sorry but I am calling BS on those mpgs theres no way a dually with 430 gears is getting over 12 mpg, and to take it futher I dont believe those claiming 16 or 17 either I know 5 guys with the new 6.4 250 4x4 cc 373 gears and they are getting 8 to 10 mpg combined and I know 2 with 450 and they love the truck but they are only getting 6 to 10 mph and they know how to figure the mpgs and they dont work for ford either.
I guess you know a lot of guys with lead feet. My '08 350 with 3.73s got a worst fule economy of 9 towing 13,000 pounds with a large frontal area.
It gets 16-17 cruising at 60-65 and 15 cruising at 70-75. City driving it gets 14-15.
Ditto on the lead feet,my numbers are what they are, you can call them bs or anything else but that doesn't change the facts. I also am driving the same truck as 66stang, only a 250.

Thats alright... I'm calling BS on you knowing 7 guys with the 6.4. Oh and it is not real tough to figure mpg, so the fact that you are bragging about that says something.

I can't believe anyone you know would even dare buy a Ford diesel...

He is so unhappy with Ford that the only way he can be happy is if everyone else is unhappy, maybe his buddies just tell him how lousy their mileage is to cheer him up.
I dont work for Ford. However i did get 12.4 mpg on my second tank of diesel. 08 450 4x4 with 4:30 rear end. This truck is by far the best truck I have ever owned. Hooked up to a 42' trailer, it pulled like a dream. love everything about it. Didnt figure the mpg when towing only towed 80 miles.
I have now had my '03 F350 Crew cab 6.4L with the 4.30 rear for 2 months. I do mostly 50 mph 2 lanes with the occasional pass and a few lights, plus some heavy afternoon stop and go. I've got 4995 miles as of this morning, and I am getting 14.6 consistently - both on the gauge and when I calculate by hand (give or take a couple of tenths). So far no towing - this is just the vehicle itself and maybe some light cargo in the bed, plus an aluminum tonneau cover.
Yes I agree a 350 with 4.30’s can get this mileage under the circumstances that you are driving. My 450 loves 50 mph. Tn Mac goes by what has been posted on this site then takes the worst of it and makes his opinion. So don’t take his insult to you serious, you’ll see him do that on most of his posts. Do you have DRW or SRW? My average so far city and rural driving has been just under 12. A trip to ME last week at 60mph averaged 15.8 mpg for 330 miles hand calculated. The computer showed 16 mpg. As soon as I bring it up to 65mph at 2100rpms the computer shows 12mpg. Hills stop & go, and rpms draw down the mileage.

WELL seems you don't know squat, I have a dully, with 4:30s and just did a 492 mile trip, climbing roughly 11k ....did the math ...I know how to do that ...16.9 overall....of course it is only a 6oh......I have recorded EVERY gallon in my v10 and both 6ohs, be real carefull who you call BS.....I have proof.
BTW my truck is in my gallery, when I tow the monster I get 9/11.2 with the 10..... I got 3.9 to 6.1 again all recorded.
I have ran two tanks of fuel so far in my 08 F350 DRW 4X4 with TowBoss 4.30 and I am getting exactly same fuel milage Mattbury is getting. Kind of dissapointing comming from 7.3 and 6.0 got better fuel milage with the 7.3 and the 6.0
Admin,
Way off subject. What's all this 6.0 and V10 crap? I thought this string was about the new 6.4's. Stay with the subject and stop muddying the waters. I'm pi$$ed at the mileage I'm getting on my 08 6.4 DRW F350 KRanch. I agree that anyone claiming high mileage with this newcomer is total BS or isn't really driving this engine normally, trying to squeek out every mile they can. I bought this truck to drive. Big disappointment in power and mileage. I can afford the mileage, but I hate the way it won't downshift when I put the metal to the floor to pass when the RPM's are 2500 or more. It's like having no passing gear. This truck needs chipped to run right. Trouble is, I hear nobody has found a way yet, to bypass Ford's spyware that detects a chipped truck.
Colorado to Arizona and back.
