My old school head tells me that if the relay is clicking than the N/P safty switch is working. And the problem is between there and the starter. Most likely at the starter where the plug is.

Thanks Mike. Our long distence is out on the phone till THE MAN goses over and sweeps the snow of the phone dish. I about got my broom worn out trying to keep my DSL working. So when the wife gets back from school tonight and asks what I did all day I can tell her I've been sweeping.

Lol, yea Eagle to F-truck would take a big beating.

Too bad the starter prob wasn't something easy like crawling underneath and cleaning the connections, hope a parts store was close by. Just wire them enough money and anything can be fixed.

You have a mis-aligned satellite broadband connection with probs, or satellite-phone aDSL, or...? I've a Inet friend on Sri Lanka island that apparently has better connections than Prince of Wales island. They do typhoons, not snowstorms.

Na every thing is in line. But having the satellites over the equator make us a long way away. And any snow on the dishes knocks out the already weak signal. They keep saying that they have a satellite ready to go up for the northern hemisphere but the Chinese or who ever is going to launch it is way behind. Ya like the check is in the mail?

Are you by Coffman Cove? An old google article says they got hooked up with sat broadband but it's hosed... Down to 14.4kbps sometimes! My DialUck was faster lol.

http://www.isp-planet.com/fixed_wire...fman_cove.html

Keep that broom swinging!

Ya' gotta' get back down here to civilization. Even here in the woods (yea, i know it's not good as Alaska woods) we have reliable aDSL now.

Or the expensive DirecTV sat broadband.

You may want to consider a backup phone service like Net2Phone. I have used it in the past. The rates are very good, and it is prepay, so you don't have to worry about a regular bill.

I am just north of Coffman. About 30 minutes by boat. But a 2 hour drive by car. Nice article. I am running Starband. And most of the time it kicks. The phone is AP&T out of Port Townsend. Any snow on there dish and we all loose long distance. It must be working again as the Wife just called from Nakitie (30 miles to where the kids go to school at) and said that She ran out of gas having to brake trail through two+ feet of snow. Luckily she was within a mile of camp and had one of the kids that spent the night with us go and get his dad. So she is fine. She said she won't be coming home tonight if the road isn't plowed as It is still snowing. I new after having to tow her out of the driveway this morning that they should have stayed home. The Community Association is out of money to run the grader so we are tying to get the state to kick in some funds or something. This is the most snow we have had in 15 years and nobody was ready for it. Generaly we get the same weather as Seattle.

That's a nasty winter! Your's is usually like Seattle's? That ain't bad, i'd rather be wet than shovelling it. O'course the damn moss is trying to take over from the grass, and winning.

I wouldn't now what grass looks like. I spent all summer three years ago to put in a lawn. 30 yards of top soil and that meny bages of the Top of the line seed and all we got was moss. Never gets high enough ta use the mower.

Cool

Have to disagree Rex...I want the precipitation to be hard. I would rather brush, shovel or plow than have everything wet!!!!!!!!!!

So I think it will be fun getting tired of Brown, Lt brown, Dk Brown, Tan and not a lot of Rain.....And not a lot of people, about one mill 750,000 in the whole state. Hell, I seen that many waiting at a bus stop here in the South end.

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking about a move to northern Idaho just for the property prices. In my line of work, I can get very close to the same pay there as I do here, and actually afford a nice place.

Our gentle monsoon lasts longer than when I lived in Phillipines or Guam, grrrr. Not as much rainfall, but spread over 6-7 months stinks... Gotta' kill 'n scrape moss off the roofs again this summer -- not even the Zinc strips can keep up with it. Have to put in a second strip midway down the roofs after killing all the old stuff. The gutters look like moss gardens grrrr.

Jared, the land in north Idaho is still a good price? Isn't that like 10 feet of snow too?
