Some of my in-laws was in that movie. They needed people so they just ask for volunteers from camp. Didn't pay em anything though.

Hi Ken,

That is a fair question and one that Placermike asked me yesterday in a PM.
Here is what I said to him.

"I was not sure about posting a link in the forums. Did not want to brake any rules...So far only one hit....I have a cut and past ready for any PM's I may get..."

Thanks for you time.

Like I tell my sister "That's whatcha' moved to Alaska for right?" Have fun bucking trees in the blizzard. I decided to procrastinate again and just look at the logs from the deck. In the sun. 50F degrees. Mild warm breeze. Cold Miller in the fridge.

A knot is sailor-speak for nautical mile.

40 Knots x 1.15=46mph

"A knot is exactly equal to 1/60th of a degree of latitude. A 1/60th of a degree of latitude is known as a minute of latitude. Therefore a knot is equal to one minute of distance. There are 90 degrees from the equator to the pole. Therefore a knot is 1/5,400th the distance from the equator to the pole. This number is found by multiplying 90 (degrees from equator to pole) × 60 (number of minutes in a degree of latitude).

At sea, one's position is always based on degrees, minutes and seconds, so therefore how fast you traverse the ocean is based on "minutes" traveled per unit time (hour); hence, the nautical mile per hour or knot. In centuries past, mariners determined the speed of their ships using a knotted "log line." The buoyant line was let out freely as the ship sailed along, and then the number of knots let out during a given time gave the shipmaster a measure of his vessel's speed."

Ho-ho-ho.
That's prolly more than you wanted to know.
(And a bottle of rum)

It doesn't?

A master chief diver pal finished up his license requirements just as he was retiring on Oahu. Took his 6-pack to Matson Shipping and is making the BIG money now. Knowing him, he's having Love-Boat parties while hauling cargo. Woot!

Thanks for the offer, if i weren't a stick in the mud homebody I'd take ya' up on that.

Google spell check isn't working because of a snow storm? Are you trying out a New Guy trick on me, like go find me an A.S.H. receiver, or something?

The site is fun, and can become addictive. Seems like only yesterday, I was 'New'... Now I have been 'aged' to a senior...lol

Thanks for helping the chapter be more active JR
