Picked the truck up, seems transmission is FIXED, it shifts smoother than it ever has. Seems like this solved them problem, but only time will tell. I sped up slowed down and you cannot feel the truck shifting gears, so smooth, but if you watch the rpm's you can clearly tell it is shifting where it should be.
Quoting off of invoice received for work performed:
Update transmission adaptive strategy, ran eec test p1000, ran oasis, and reprogrammed pcmand tc up to date trans adaptive strategy performed roadtest, concern still present after did tsb .
Removed and replaced trans pan and fine valve cane off and the pan, replaced valve body and topped off fluid leve. replaced module - transmission Road Test rerun eec test ok, done.

Carbon M,
Great to see you back on the road in your 07. Let us know how it holds up.
Looks like it was more than a TSB update. This is good to know for future reference. There really was something internal gone haywire.
I am having the same issue as described by the original poster. Just under 2200 miles. I will get her updated when she goes in for her service. Thanks for all the info folks.
So far so good here too @1300 miles. One day when It got down to 40 degrees, once and only once did it try to start out in second gear from a stop. When it warmed up, it ran ok. I am watching it though.
But here is something, It seems to me that for some reason the engine sounds louder than it did when it was new. Not a problem, as it has been sort of a slow change, but I have noticed it. Not an exhaust leak or anything, but just louder engine noise, kind of like my 65 Mustang GT convertible had.
I am having the exact same problem as carbonmetallic. I have only owned my 07 Expedition for a week, and now its going to be in the shop for over a week while they "reseal the clutches". I dont know a whole lot about cars, so hopefully whatever they do fixes it. This is really depressing. I have never had new car problems like this.

Hmm. Never heard of reasealing the clutches. Maybe they checked out the clutches and had to reseal the pan?
Here is a copy of the TSB. Show them this if you can't get anywhere.
Berry : You ever hear of a "clutch shield"? I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what exactly they are going to be doing over the next week with it. FWIW, I showed them that TSB when I brought it in, and they said it was happening between 3 and 4 and not 1 and 2.
It sure did feel like it. It would start off fine, early in the day for example. But after sitting in stop and go traffic for a while, it had trouble finding gears, and sounded like the engine was revving high even though the highest I saw the RPMs go was about 2.5k. Even early in the day however, when it was fine, it did feel "sluggish" then would jolt into action after hitting the gas. At first I thought it was the new transmission model, and just the way it felt. Was very different from my 06 F150 4 speed. Now, im not so sure if it was normal.
