Like I Said Earlier, I Am Running Level 3, No Customization. I Am Fueling Up With 93 Octane. Does This Mean That The Timing Needs To Be +3? I Also Had The Edge Putting A Smaller Tire Size, But I Have Not Adjusted It Yet.

Based on what I have read on this forum and others, I think you need to run your timing at +1 with 93 octane. My understanding is to add +1 or -1 for every 2 points of octane above/below 87 or above/below 91.
I'm running level 3. The only changes I made were to verify that my tire size was correct (I've had problems here where it's setting the size much smaller by default) and I set my timing to -0.5 because I'm running 89 octane instead of 91 and haven't experienced any detonation issues with that timing setting.
This past week I drove to MN and back and ran 87 octane because I was just burning gas on the long drive so I figured I'd save a few bucks. I backed the timing down to -2.0 to account for the 87 octane. It seemed to me that the truck didn't perform as well while running the 87. It also seemed to growl louder (from the Volant air intake) and the engine load tended to be higher (according to the display).
My personal opinion/conclusion is that the higher octane fuel seems to give the engine more lugging power so it doesn't need to work as hard at the higher speeds.
it's because you backed your timing down.you always get more performance out of higher timing without detonation.
I have been using the Level 2 (tow) tuning with custom changes for tire size, gear ratio, and shift firmness without any problems. I really like this tuner.
Recently, however, I tried the performance tune (level 3) but when I tried to customize the tune for shift firmness I got the Error Code: 0xf1. This error does not happen if I select level 3 and do not try to customize the tune. On level 3 with no customized parameters the vehicle seems to run fine.
I thought it to be strange that the tuner worked flawlessly on the level 2 tune, and appears to work fine on the default level 3 tune, but generates an error message when trying to customize level 3. Anybody else experienced this problem?
Fixed it. Got home and returned the truck to stock. Hooked the Edge up to the computer and reinstalled the calibration files. Hooked the edge back up to the truck and set the programming to level 3 with custom programming added. Edge and the truck works great now. It's a mystery to me.
Does anyone have any problems downloading the drivers from the net. I just got my EVO home and i cant get the drivers or software to install. The page is unavailable.
ok Well I figured out how to get the software but now the drivers wont install. It says preinstall drvers than an error message comes up and tells me that if I continue the software will damage my computer. I tried to do it through the Computer manager but it asks to put a disk in. What the heck is going on HELP!!!
One last thing, I think that I have verything figured out. I hook up the USB cable to the EVO and the utility says connected, it checks for updated and tells me I need an update in the EVO. I have not programmed the truck yet, should I program the truck then update or update before programming the truck. It started to program automaticlally but I stopped it because it said there were stock files missing. The instructions are not clear on this. Please help so that I dont screw up the EVO or my truck. Thanks for the computer help I am not good with this stuff.
It Wont Matter If You Program Your Truck First Or Not, Because You Need To Return To Stock Before You Update. Plug Back Into Your Computer And Do The Update.
