That is some important knowledge to me in Texas where it is HOT 2/3 of the year. That makes it manditory to run alcohol in my mix.
Yours would get REALLY hot in the summer down there I bet. I guess I never had this issue because my tank was shielded in my toolbox. I wonder though...without methanol, how easily will our tanks freeze and bust? We most certainly should run at least windshield washer fluid. Well, I guess you won't have that problem, but Kent and I sure might...
Actually we have 30 or so below freezing mornings. I run W/S wiper antifreeze year round because we never know when it will freeze. In Amarillo and Lubbock we have had September snow storms and freezing weather in earily May. Not often, but it has happened. West Texas has the record in the US for the greatest temp drop in 24 hours, 85 degrees as I remember one September when I was a kid.
I will run the w/s wiper fluid in mine

Im assuming that the more the methanol, the lower the freezing point? Don't know any of the freeze/evap points of methanol...

Hey, look, 1000th post
Alcohol of different types does lower the freezing point. If I remember, most W/S wiper fluid is good to -20 deg F.
Before modern chemical coolants, alcohol was used as cooling system antifreeze. The systems were mostly non pressureized so you had to constantly replace alcohol /water in the winter. Water only was used in the summer.
I give my age away. My first car was a 6 year old 56 Ford.

Well, I bet all of you knew it wouldn't take too long
I put my system back in tonight for a little competition on Friday
I will just be running water, because its cheap, and the only reason I'm doing it is to keep the EGT's down. The Edge module really builds some heat (and the power to go along with it) Maybe a little HP as a nice side effect.
Thought I would get the thread going again...
Its amazing how quickly something goes in the second time you install it. I did the full install in wayyyyy less than an hour. It took a full day the first time.
