You are right on the exhausts. I think all the big teams are still trying to chase the rear down force they lost by not having blown-diffusers, and I don't think any of them have found a solution they are happy with yet.

yeah, don't they say, there are lies, damned lies and statistics.
It also looks like from the "Average starting position of race winners by season" that those that have won that weren't on pole have come from much further back in the pack to do it.
2000/2004 where the dominate years for Ferrari and Michael
Constructor was 1999-2008 consecutively....I am still looking for pole position by teams through the years...cannot find it yet
I wonder if those high years (above 50%) would show the top teams ...both drivers sat on the front row...more often then not...would account for more of the wins, we know team orders are real back then
1982 was both beautiful, technologically changing and from a drivers protection point of view ...scary..the MP4...a very very fast car...notice Ron Dennis helping to lift on the nose .
That turbo is huge... when you think it's a 1.5l engine...

If you ever were wondering why pit crew members started wearing helmets, here is exhibit A.
During a practice run at Zandvoort in Germany on Friday, Ralf Schumacher was pulling out of pit road when his spoiler caught an air hose, dragged it, and clotheslined members of another pit crew. The video is surreal, as it shows the crew members hitting the ground from an almost ghost-like force.
Danger lurks everywhere.... Glad no one was seriously injured!
Those are cool...you have got to love SPA ...no if my red cars could finally get a win there...Alonso seem to be snake bit when it comes to the top of the podium at Spa

This has been a unique year. And Alonso has been making the best of it.
I don't remember a year with so many "in season" tech developments. Maybe Ferrari will have found some key changes during the break.
P1 was WET! O-rouge is treacherous in the rain..... It was in German so judging by the smoke it looks like Massa lost an engine before completing 1 lap. I tuned in late but Alonso only did an installation lap.
Two hours till P2! In English so I will understand commentary! The season is BACK baby!!!!!
A cloud burst just before the start of the 90-minute first practice session, and a torrential downpour just minutes into the action.
Eau-rouge ...dry and what a daunting corner...click on make it larger it really give you some thought at what it would be to take it flat out and climb up that bit
