other "Falcon' motors"
Also look @ fordsix (all 6 of the ford 'falcon' straight 6 motors + some of the 'orphan' 6s too). And the Classic Inlines sites (fords as well).

I drove an old 76 f350 with the 300 in it daily for years, had every Bit of half a million on it when I had my hands on it. It ran just as strong and smooth and the day she was built. I know for for a fact the motor still lives on, just the cab and bed of the old girl was more rust and holes than sheet metal.

I just acquired
a 1982 E150 Econoline cargo van from the original owner. It has 374,439 miles total on it. He had the engine and transmission removed and rebuilt at approx 300k. It has the original 9" trac-lok in it ratio 3:00. The transmission is is a cast iron 3spd w/4thOD with that LOOONNNGG spread form 2nd to 3rd. I'm looking forward to tweaking it some as the next few months tick away.
I should make a great canoe hauler....

I sold my old '95 F150 4.9L when I was stationed in Iceland to an Icelander. It had nearly 280k miles on it. Every single body panel was dented, it was lifted 6" with 33" tires and a manual trans. Got me everywhere I needed to go in Iceland. Loved it.
EDIT: my kids took a sharpie and wrote the location of every dent, in the middle of each dent. It was hilarious. Lots of glaciers, rock contact and even an accident with an Elk that required the use of a green hood on my red truck. LoL!!!
EDIT 2: I did own this truck in the US before being stationed in Iceland. I had it shipped there as part of my move to the island. I received a few messages in my inbox claiming there are no Elk in Iceland. I know that, I lived there. I hit the Elk in northern MN, near the Red Rock reservation back in 2000.

glad U found a hood over there -but-,
not surprised, as it's the widest selling vehicle in the world - one may have been in the "junk yrd" there.
Also
during the day I bet that motor was also the widest selling (in the widest selling vehicle).
Like to get some realistic verifiable stats on that !

I attended the de-commissioning of the 4.9 line at the Cleveland Engine Plant. I received a keepsake pen that had engraved "over 7 million 300s built here".
