Morning All,
U R Da Man Alan. Great video!!!
Finished up mowing yesterday and after that
My Daughter roped me and my SIL into judging a car show Saturday. This could be crazy as my SIL doesn't know an alternator from a starter. We're also using some automated judging program. Dave2 says he doesn't like using it, lots of problems, and they have gone back to paper. Glad I got to talk to Dave2 at the Grand Nationals about judging so I'm not totally in the dark when I get there.
Gonna drop by the machine shop and see how my Y block engine is coming along. This is a replacement for the one in the 56 if I can't get it running right.
Might drown a worm for a while today. I think it's supposed to rain here this afternoon.
TGIF all you working stiffs and some might even get a 3 day weekend outta the deal.
Good morning all. Alan, I'll have to watch that there moving picture on the shop tv with the surround sound cranked up...I assume.
Have a great day youins!
Bronco parts picked up. West wall T&G boards are all stained. I will put them back up Sunday when we get back in town. Or Monday not sure yet. Took Penny out to dinner and now just relaxing. I need to get this pool shed done, so I can get my shop back.
Yestetday was our 38th anniversary, high school sweethearts since 81. Saw the hand surgeon today. Prescribed another week of antibiotic. Said 4? More weeks before cleared for work. Might have to make another short trip somewhere. I'd know what to do if I could hold a fishing/fly rod.
Congrats on 38, and good luck on getting that hand to heal. Are you going to try and find a spot to watch the Hot Rod Power Tour vehicles come into Spg? I am thinking Buc-ee's on the east side of Spg.
Their parking lot (on the south east corner) is close to the hwy. And that is exit #84 and right before their exit of #82B to get on Hwy 65....Unless they take the one before that Strafford exit to get on a little bit of Route 66 early.
I am meeting a fellow FTE member who is driving his 73 Ford truck in the Power Tour at Buc-ees anyway.
So good morning folks, we are getting packed for the road trip down to Table Rock Lake to go spend the night with the 2 SIL's & hubby's. Travel safe out there, if you travel.
Morning all,
Just kicking dirt waiting to go judge the car show at St Charles 370 Park. That's a Plug. It's been misting off and on but I don't think it'll actually rain on the show.
Old and soft that hand sounds nasty.
'Well better get outta here. Wish me luck.
If I felt normal I'd be over at California right now setting up the school gym for the CHS Alumni Banquet tonight. It's not my reunion year but I'm on the committee that puts this shindig on every year on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. It's been a long time since I've missed one of these. I haven't left the house for 9 days now fighting this cold. Well; I did walk to the mailbox once. For all I know it could be Covid again. I've had it twice before (proven by the tests), but this cold is kicking my a$$ worse than either of those episodes. I've finally gotten to the point where if I take a large enough dose of NyQuil I can now get some sleep. Not a lot but some.
Y'all remember Jerry Clower telling about a coon hunt with Marcel Ledbetter, best coon hunter on earth.
...One night Jerry and Marcel were out with their dogs when they treed a coon up a huge sycamore. Marcel, a firm believer in giving a coon a fighting chance, climbed the tree to shake the coon out. But it wasn't a coon, it was a lynx, and it went after Marcel something terrible. The tree was a-shakin' and a-quiverin' from the battle. Marcel was getting torn up. Finally, desperate, he hollered down at Jerry, "Shoot, shoot, this thang is killin' me." Jerry hollered back, "I'm afraid to shoot, I might hit you". Marcel hollered back down, "Just shoot up here amongst us, one of us has got to have some relief."
I feel a lot like Marcel; I could die or get better, but either would be relief compared to where I'm at right now. I don't foresee me leaving the house for several more days.
Y'all do some fun stuff with your Ford trucks this holiday weekend.
Afternoon all. I spent two days on the road this week doing site visits this week and it really kicked my tail.
I toyed with going to the big car show in Springfield, but I've started having random balance and stability issues when walking. Doc says I'm not supposed to walk or stand for long periods of time any more and have to use a cane when I am on my feet. I'm not terribly happy about it, but I knew it was inevitable.
It's time for another brake job on the wife's car so I picked up the parts this afternoon and I'm going to walk Cole through it Monday.
Sad news about Kyle Busch passing away on Thursday. It sucks when someone is cut down long before their time is up.
I'm over on the east side. 269 is my on/off ramp for traveling on 44. My pinky and ring fingers used to open only half way, now they only close half way. Dang the luck. The incision that opened has not dried out yet, 5 weeks later. Got to get it to heal before jumping into full blown therapy. That, and my hand is still way swolen. PTO is over after next week.
Should drive my 17 f250, no different from daddy warbucks in his new vette.
Good Morning folks. We have the street rods in town this weekend . Didn't go heard they wanted $20 to get in not that I am a cheap skate but you can just drive through town and see them. Used to go but a lot of walking. Hope everyone has plans to get together with family and remember that Memorial Day is the day we remember the fallen that gave their life for our country. I had five friends that did not make it back from Vietnam. Monday Missouri Veterans Cemetery has the service at 1:00. Atch hope that you get over the crud quick. Hope everyone has a safe weekend.

I used to go every year in Clarence. When they started letting in "new" cars I quit going. I can go into Columbia and watch Mustangs, Camaros, and pro-street Pintos any Saturday evening that I want; assuming that I had any interest in seeing these things.

Thanks Art. Every day gets a little better. Eleven days now and counting since I've left the house. The throat isn't as sore as it had been. The body aches are easing off. My head isn't as stuffed up as it has been. I think I might survive this thing after all.
Everyone enjoy your family and friends on this Memorial Day weekend. AND don't forget why we have Memorial Day. I bet everyone on here knows (or knows of) someone who never came home from combat. I know I do.
Morning all,
Well judging wasn't that bad. Judged with a phone app. Had a little over 250 vehicles register. Here's the only Ford trucks.
Think I'll try to work on the 56 today.
Thanks for the pix BJ. All three of those Ford trucks have a lot of nice work in them. The more I look at the '57 Ranch-a-roo the more modifications I see. And original or modified, 1940 pickups are probably my favorite Ford pickup ever. Too bad I'll never be able to afford one.
I got a bunch of yard work done today. Basically, I did a crap load of weed eating, but I cleaned fence rows and cut back a LOT of over growth. I have to finish up the ditches tomorrow. Tiff did the grass cutting, but doesn't like to get too far off camber on the lawn mower, so the ditches are my deal. The place is getting back to normal now that I'm home. Tomorrow, I have to start building bumpers again. I have three to build right away, then we'll see what happens from there.
