Wow Alan I never imagined, I though it was all sunglasses and autographs. Lol Welcome home and take a giant break from it, sounds like you sure earned it.
We got rain and more rain up here, still coming down. Yesterday was a gully washer also. Stay cool, safe and just live it.
Another lazy day to get my mind right. I might go out and tinker with the hauler if the rain stops. Nothing major as far as weather, just rain and a couple claps of thunder. I haven't even looked at Earthquake since September. I may go out and say hi to him. The hotrod power tour is making a stop in Springfield next month. I'm considering going to see what's there. I was a long hauler in '98 and did two stops in '99 before I blew the trans in my car. I can't believe that was almost 20 years ago.
Morning all,
Well I was out in the shop tearing down a recent purchase (312 Y Block) and discovered this. #7 let loose Got the block pretty good too
So I guess I need to see if a sleeve is an option or whether this is toast.
It's still too wet to mow, we got about 3" yesterday. One nice thing, the pond's full again. I'm pretty sure we're supposed to get more rain this afternoon noon but right now it's a bright sunny day.
Alan if you want a leisurely build don't forget I'd like you to build me a cab and a half 56. I've got plenty of other projects so time isn't an issue. This is a 53-55 Mine would be a 56
If you saw the F100 Grand National link I posted earlier, I've added a few more pictures to it. Dents and Bumps seem to be the rage these days.
Well I better get back to checking out my purchases. Sure hope things turn out better than they have so far.
Alan, that's Thursday June 11th. Online says 9:00 to 5:00. I talked to a FTE guy from Louisiana that's driving his 73 Ford truck in the Power Cruise and he says the show is 11:00 to 5:00. I'm going to meet up with him some time while I'm there. If you want to also meet up and walk around together, let me know.

Hey Ford truck kids!
Glad BJ posted some great pics as I don't remember to take many. And I think somehow I missed some of the ones he posted! Mostly dents/bumps, bagged, low riders. But if I were building another, this would be the place to go for swap parts! Pigeon Forge is branson x 10 both in traffic and outrageous prices! Went on east another 6 hours to ride on the Greenbrier river trail, west virginia. Definitely top 5 trails I'd been on. Stayed in a cool little cabin right on the river. Wish I'd had my trout stuff! Cut short by 1 day since part of the trail was closed. My behind resembles a f150 seat after 4 hours yesterday and 8 hours today. But snuck in between all rain storms so happy about that. Home for couple, then a round trip friday to take care of some business in kimberling city. There's a good show on FS1 right now on sprint car racing!!!
Another day of doing just about nothing....and I'm ok with that. I'm not even going to try to go to the Power Tour stop without talking with the magazine people first and nobody has bothered to reach out, so I may not go.
Had heavy downpouring of rain Mon night. In-laws reported 10" & the creeks & rivers around here are full along with most bottom areas having standing water. Hopefully as much of it can soak in rather than run off.
Rich, the plan was to sneak up there with the truck, but it probably won't happen. I'll make a decision on weather I want to go and spectate as we get closer.
BJ. I'll let you know about the truck later. There's still a lot of unknowns for this summer. I don't know what's going to happen with the monster truck thing, so I have to play it by ear.
I think today I'm gonna go out and get the hauler fired up and charge batteries on everything. Just to keep everything up. I REALLY want to the weather to break so I can get back to working on the shop truck.
