Good Late Morning Everybody!

I had a guy come out to look at my 53' trailer I have for sale this morning. He sounded like he was ready to buy it, but it turns out he's with a not for profit band out of Lebanon. He wants to drag my trailer and a few others to Fort Leonard Wood (I guess where the board is) so they can look at all the trailers and pick which one they want. ....yeah, no. Good luck finding a trailer owner that will consent to that. I don't have to sell it THAT bad. A friend of mine out of Washington state said he would buy it, but he won't have the money for a few weeks. I feel MUCH more comfortable with that deal, so I guess my trailer is going to Washington, instead. I need to finish up the bumper that's in the jig right now. (I ran out of wire halfway through yesterday) and get the pieces cut for the next one today. I'm moving at a very slow pace, but stuff is getting done.

Morning all,
Spent the morning digging up the back yard looking for a leak. Think I found it. I think I'm just gonna trench it down to the pond.
I think its the drain for the retaining wall
I think it's the drain for the retaining wall
Just stops right where the puddle was
Just stops right where the puddle was
Only 4-6
Only 4-6" deep, just under the grass

You all have a great weekend!

Hello all.

Yes, I'm still alive and (somewhat) breathing. I got out yesterday and mowed the yard. First time outside in almost 2 weeks.

Karl told me yesterday he's been working on Clarence 7 days a week but it's still not done. The Model A is still in Bartlesville awaiting new timing gear. I started the H-D and moved it from the shop to the garage. First time it's been started in about a year. I think it's time for it to go down the road. I still enjoy riding but it's getting harder and harder to keep it upright at stop signs.

Joe, I read about your 5/27 birthday. Happy birthday. Our granddaughter turned 17 on that same day.

I haven't been posting much during this spell of being under the weather but have read all of your comments every day.

Evening Everyone!

Well, I got pretty aggravated today. We bought tires at Wal Mart and took them to our local shop to have them put on because, ...you know. ...Wal Mart. The kid did a good job with the tires, but he comes in with a panicked, worried look on his face and tells me the rear brakes are metal to metal. I thought, odd, I didn't hear any grinding, but hey, maybe they just started to contact the rotor. Tiff chimes in and said, "SEE! I told you they were bad but YOU didn't believe me!" I asked when was the last time you said anything about the brakes? She said, I stopped saying anything SIX. MONTHS. ago because you kept saying they were fine."

Well guess what??!! SIX MONTHS AGO, they were fine. 6/32 on the pads. (I checked) The kid comes back in and I specifically ask him, "Are the rotors gouged or are the pads just close?" He says, (and I quote) "They're metal to metal. Like, DANGEROUS."

Well, ok, I go buy rotors and pads for $190 and go to put them on. Not only were the rotors absolutely perfect, but both inner pads still had 4/32" and the outers were indeed thin at 1/32". NOT dangerous. NOT metal to metal. ...but because some 17 year old kid in a greasy shop uniform shirt said it, it must be gospel. What do I know?? I've only been wrenching for 45 years. There's NO WAY I could've gained the wisdom this kid has in the last 18 months of his career of tire and oil changes.

Alan, I realize I've made many trips around the sun but in another life time I worked at CarX. Once we did a check up on someone's vehicle we'd bring them out and discuss our results. Guess they don't do that anymore.

Alan it is not really the kids fault, his dad must of never taught/shown him anything. And or his BOSS did not teach him anything. Or check to see if he knows anything about anything before giving his a mech job. Most prople are only as smart as there teacher or instructor. And then you have the ones that are trained and instructed correctily and they are just plumb I D 10 T S and would die from lack of oxygen if that was not a automatic function of the body.

When the dealership guys try to sell me a part, I say SHOW me where it is bad and we can go from there.

BJ hope the mining dig works out.
Atch good to hear you are feeling better, Clarence will live again to be rolling down the road and looking pretty sharp while doing it, so hang in there while waiting.

Too all: Remember the Power Tour 2026 show is June 11th (thursday) at MSU.

June is around the corner. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...hat-it-up.html

Everyone have good classic vehicle insurance? Kenny lost his 76 Highboy, 4wd 4 wheeler, Crown Vic and travel trailer. Fire started in the travel trailer and spread to the near by parked vehicles.

Morning all,
Went out to continue the dig only to find yesterday's hole filled with water.

So now I've gotta find a little pump and get the water outta the hole. I'm starting to rethink whether the big pipe is the culprit or not.
Man I hate to see someone have a fire, much less lose vehicles in it. Hope everyone is OK.
Guess I better get looking for a small pump.

Well my son is now famous I mine hole opened up in Brookfield in a persons backyard. Sam works for DNR in mine reclamation 300 yards of concrete to fill it. The Feds pay for it.
https://www.ktvo.com/news/local/69-f...da2a02a0a.html.

What Alan, why not just let them take your trailer for a few days. I can't believe that anyone would go for that.
Got my rooms for OMR. Nothing like waiting until the last moment. But my truck is now running well. I will have to keep a close eye on my spark plugs.

3 year old granddaughter is coming over here in a few minutes. Of course it is raining so outdoor activities are on hold for a bit.
Last night Gwen and I went out to Bones (a local bar here in Jeff) to listen to a piano guy. The owner of the bar invited us out to his house. He lives less than a mile from us. I should have taken pictures of a couple of his vehicles. Nice dent (orange and white) and a nice ford galaxie 500 convertible maybe a 74. Got home way late for me 12:30. Got up at 5:30 to meet the local running group for a run. Got in 9 miles but it was a struggle the whole way. I got a little nap in so hopefully I'm ready for Effie (Elizabeth Francis Jean) not sure how the got Effie. And they didn't know my truck is an Effie......

here we go.

Afternoon all. Got a late start today, but managed to get a few old downed trees moved and the brush hog put back on the tractor before it opened up and started raining.

The wife & I are going to her principal's retirement party here in a bit so I had to get myself cleaned up and presentable.

Well we went to the Greater Springfield Garage Sale, at least it was cool inside the bldg. We went to both sides of the E-plex. There was crafts, antiques, garage sale stuff. A little bit on what ever and what not, and some real cool stuff. All the stuff was expensive, well the 1st asking price was. Penny found a few "cool" items. I found a bunch of cool items, I came home with one. We also hit a BBQ food truck for lunch.

Once home I got my electrician buddy to come over and help me finish the wiring on the pool table shed. I am 99% done with that. I have 2 boards to put up and then one elec plug cover and will be 100% done with elec. Then trim staining and install time. Then mini split and flooring.

Going to go pick up a shuffle board table tomorrow, we got a smoking deal on it. And that way we can be slinging pucks as soon as the flooring is done, which I hope is going to be done very soon.

Morning all,
Yesterday my daughter dropped off our granddaughter then took our van (2012 Nissan Quest) she called a few minutes later with a sound, smell, and the brake and battery light on.
Well the serpentine belt broke. Oh great. I had to have it towed to the dealership. I don't have time to tackle that job. The question, was it just a worn belt that gave up or did the alternator or water pump lock up. Nissan service is closed on the weekend so we will see when they can look at it on Monday.

Then I'm adjusting my parking brake on my 55. I hear this noise as I'm doing it. Not the pad rubbing, the ratcheting sound. Here is the thread on the 48-56 forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ion-noise.html
What do you guys think? Dang I posted this last night and it says it has over a 1000 views already. Noise in a T98 must be common.

Morning all,
Been out weed eating. It's super muggy out there. Ya never can get ahead it seems. I'm just cooling off and getting a drink. We got 1 1/2" of rain yesterday afternoon so the hole is full in the back yard. I'm not sure what to think as it was filling up about an inch every two hours before the rain. It was filling with clear water but I'm not sure what if anything that means. Of course now with the rain it's muddy again.
Anybody got an A Frame out there? Hint, hint Art. I can't pull the engine outta the 56 without pulling the frontend off with my cherry picker. Its boom needs to be about 2' longer.
Not sure what more today will bring. There's plenty to do but there's little desire to do it. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
