JULY, AUG, SEP BS Thread
I thought the website was down because when I tried to submit I got this error:
But it looks like instead it was an internet trouble on my end, a little later Spectrum sent a message saying they were working on an outage in my area and should be restored by 8:30pm. Well it looks like it came up an hour early (y)
I'm curious if that 90d fitting works. Worst case you can always put the stock MC back on.
That October 4th show? Are motorcycles allowed to show? My October car show in Oriental got cancelled again. Now they are doing a poker run instead. I'm not interested in that. But would love to ride up to Selma and show off the bike.
If bikes aren't allowed to show then I may just ride up on a different bike and hang out.
we are not against bikes just dont have classes for them being a car club. I also dont think we are picking who wins anything as it maybe the heads of the town or peoples choice?
I would say ride what ever you want and if you are coming let us know and we can see about getting you to park with us.
I just dont know if there is a cut off time to enter the car show area with a car or your bike?
I know when we did the show in Smithfield there was a cut off time to enter and could not leave till a certain time, yes stuck there till then, so something to think about.
John I was wondering what happened to the pictures but you are right rust is rust

Here are the rest of the pics from my post yesterday.
Going to start following and adding to the conversation. Background in industrial machine repair/rebuild. Just purchased a new F350, we will use it mostly as a tow vehicle for camping. Noticed some of you like shooting, we have not been doing much lately, but enjoy plinking. Rebuilt a motorcycle and took it to shows, too. Never rebuilt a car or pickup, yet.

Bill, Great you found your way down here.

I ride and have several bikes.
I just sold my class B camper last year but am looking for a small tag a long.
I hunt and shoot on the regular.

"Never rebuilt a car or pickup, yet"
Well it's a nice way to burn through thousands of dollars and months or years of time, with only a 20% chance of ever finishing your project! What's not to love about the hobby right?

I disconnected my master cylinder and the crimped brake line. It was a real bear to get out, I could only squeeze one side past the studs, and then twist it a good 45 degrees and use a flat tip screwdriver to force it past the other stud in order to gain enough room to adjust the pushrod from the booster. Given how difficult that was I didn't want to have to repeat the process, so I hope I turned it enough. I gave it about 3 full turns outward.
Here is a pic of that rear brake line from a different angle, you can see it's definitely not in a comfortable position.
In order to give myself as much working room as possible I cinched the whole master & bracket & proportioning valve up together (it's in place, but with the nuts loosely started so as to allow as much movement as is reasonable).
I ground down the corner of my 90 degree piece, just to give as much clearance as possible, and was able to get it started easily.
My tubing cutter was too big to get in this cramped space, I know Fuzz had a small one but he was out of town! I got in there with a cutoff wheel and chopped off the end, then I used my brake flaring block backwards for a flat edge and smoothed it off with the sanding disc. That kept it straight and flat, cleaned up put my fitting on and made a nice pretty flare.
Connected line with new flare to my new degree block and everything looks good. The only issue is the fitting to the proportioning valve doesn't have enough space to fit in a flare wrench, so all you can do is use a regular open end wrench to tighten it. But I did the best I could and haven't detected any leaks yet (knock on wood).
Now I just need to bleed the brakes again because I don't have much pedal.
Bill that would not be a Honda 650 v twinn would it?
I have a GL650i Silver Wing Interstate have not had it out in about a year. Now that it's cooler I should get it out.
John looking good.
Will the car be ready for next weekend I have Fouroak's cars on main listed.
I should be home Monday if you need a hand bleeding the system. Tuesday morning I have to take Mary to Raleigh but from 11am on I am open for the rest of the week.

There is no show in Four Oaks this year, I am sorry if I did not pass the word along! The chamber messaged me quite some time ago to say they are canceling the show for this year, as downtown Four Oaks is all still tore up. They never made a flyer (to my knowledge) so I just figured if I had not put the show out there, then I didn't need to go back and tell everyone it was canceled.
We hope this message finds you well. We’re reaching out to let you know that the Four Oaks Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show has been postponed until the completion of the downtown streetscape project.
Unfortunately, we’ve recently been informed that the scope of the construction is expanding, and it will directly impact the areas needed to safely and successfully host the event.
Please go ahead and remove the current date from your calendar. We are committed to bringing the show back better than ever and will be in touch with a new date for 2026 as soon as possible.
We know you've helped promote the event in the past by handing out flyers at other shows, and we’re incredibly grateful for that. As we work to get the word out about the postponement, we would truly appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have on how best to spread the news to the car show community.
Thank you again for your understanding and support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to a refreshed and revitalized downtown Four Oaks in 2026!
Thanks!

Brake pedal was going so low that it carved a mark into my horse's head!
John ok the 4 oaks show has been removed from my calendar. I did go by that area not long ago and seen the construction and never gave it a thought of the show.
Guess then its Jordana's that evening.
