Got a camper/rv and want to show it off? Need help fixing your camper/rv? Have questions about camping? This is the thread for all things camping and hauling campers.
Figured I should post my camper here since James made the thread!
It's a 2015 XLR Nitro 39DKS5. We got it mostly because we camped a lot, but mostly to move down here as we intended to live in it until finding a house. That went much more quickly than planned, but we still were in it almost 2 months.
That's one sweet truck and trailer combo. Do you have air bags on that thing it looks to be about maxed out.
Started out sleeping in cars and tents. Then we had a few pop ups that were fun when we were younger. Then had a small tag along. Then moved up to a large 38' pull behind that we left at the beach with a deck and covered porch. We're back to tent camping now.
Our next camper if we get one will be a van chassis cab over class c type. Haul two scooters on the back. Park it and scoot around town or the campsites.
Thanks, we love it. We stayed in a small camper and have worked up over 15 years. I do have bags, but they were empty in this picture. The ground was high on both ends too. We are considering going to a motor home next, as well.
We also started out with tents. Move up through all the ones all the way to two class A motor homes. Then it seemed like we weren't enjoying it anymore. We sold it and I prefer a tent and the wife has to have her 28' travel trailer when she goes...lol. She likes the luxuries of home.
I did order a 7x12 motorcycle/cargo trailer last Monday that I'm going to use for a small Base Camp and to store all my tent camping goodies in. If it's pouring rain when I arrive late to the campsite, I'll just sleep in it till the next day. It will also be nice when I arrive home tired and don't feel like unloading. It should be here in two to three weeks.
I do not have any current pics but my camper is a 2007 Montana 3295RK 3 slide 4 season I picked up in North Dakota when I was working the oil field. Currently living in it.
That's a nice 5th wheel, Doc. What do you haul it with?
Our friends rented a 31' class c cab over this past week and parked it in our yard. It had two slides and was pretty dang nice. It was sitting on a e450 chassis with the short wheel base. It was pretty maneuverable.

I use my 02 F350 cclb drw 4x4, or my 96 F350 rclb drw. Depends on the area I'm going to. It will be in Cruso for a long time I hope, I have no plans on moving again.
Thanks, Marty.
We're back. just now getting pictures posted.
Got 8 more days reserved in Oct before the Fling.
Big Red's tranny did great. He still needs a new pump and injectors before I would head to OBX.
See you at Badin.
So I just got back from spending a great weekend in Black Mountain with my kid. We even saw a bear. 4th year in a row we've seen bears up there but I digress.
My post is about the tons of overloaded trucks towing great big campers we saw on the way there and back. Huge tag-alongs being towed by under powered and under sprung vehicles. These things were bottoming out, or swaying from lane to lane, sometimes both. Struggling up hills, down hills.
So what gives? Do folks just go out and by campers and figure they can tow it with what ever vehicle they own?
I was amazed no 1 by how many we saw and no 2 how many we saw that didn't have adequate tow vehicles.
