Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 66 under clear skies. Came up 3 degrees in the last 15 minutes after dropping 6 between 0300 and 0630.
More battles with the IRS. Thought we had everything straightened out. Have paperwork saying we did. Got a check in the mail, instead of direct deposit, covering some of the unlawfully seized 2004 Tax Returns but no refunds. It shows a bunch of interest figured in, but the total amount is substantially less than what it should be. CP49's we got said they seized some of the missing money for an amount we owe the IRS. What amount? We had / still have a positive balance listed on our account that was supposed to be a direct deposit return.
The kicker is that it was for a lot less than what it was supposed to be for AND the bank is refusing to accept the deposit of the check, both in person and via mobile deposit. The gal at the US Bank branch hadn't seen anything like that before with a government check and neither had her supervisor. Said that usually happens when the account the check is drawn on is NSF.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 2 hrs and 29 minutes on the IRS phone torture network. 2 hr and 23 minutes of that on hold. Another couple of hours waiting for call backs. Transferred to Accounts Management now and on hold again. Then switched to call back system and I will be called back in 26 minutes? 31 minutes ago.
I meant to say this this morning but was playing with the IRS 'on hold', phone and call back system and spaced it.
That floor looks really sharp Andy.
Back to phone tag IRS style. I'm going to have to either turn this over to the attorney or they are going to have to get back to me ASAP. I'm late getting on the road. Some of the things I was planning on doing today are going to have to be put off until tomorrow now. I hate to have to raid the savings for another attorney bill. I've got nearly 5 hours tied up in this today and at $350 p/hour that the attorney charges, that adds up to a serious savings account hit. Was really hoping I could do it myself on this go around.
