Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. We were at 10° under clear sky this morning just before sunup. Snoopy and I are going to have to have a serious talk about his self-Identifying as a Saint Bernard! I, in no way, shape or form, identify as an Eskimo. We're supposed to be High Desert Forest Dwellers here!

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 10° at sunrise when we made our first foray outside. Temp has just now hit 35 with clear sky. There have been some high wispy clouds move through occasionally

I can't wait to see it in action either! A couple of fellows were plowing with other machines and can't believe the difference with the difference and how well it does, without chaining up. I know when I asked about chain cost and type at the dealership, the salesman got a funny look and said they don't carry them as there is no market. He said a few people have gone to tire shops like Les Schwab and gotten them. So, I'll cross that road when we get there.
It has got to be better than the Kubota and the open cab. Of course my Kubota is 2 wheel drive so it has a big disadvantage just getting out of the pole barn.

Quite a few people are plowing with 50 to 80 HP quads and UTV's around here and this is 116 HP. While doing searches on the subject and attending You Tube University, I have found an number of pictures and video's of this machines brothers out there pushing a lot of snow. I also found a Facebook Group that is Kawasaki's dedicated Ridge XR HVAC page. For this being the end of the first year of production, I was surprised there are a lot of owners there with a lot of snowplow and blower configurations. I was surprised that none of them seem to do any You Tube video's.
So, with over a mile of plowing that needs to be done, 1/2 mile on the lane each way from the end of the upper driveway to the Cattle Guard and the Highway, plus the driveway around the buildings and the paddock in front of the Pole Barn....lots of plowing.
My configuration will be a Kawasaki 72" steel plow. Has a mounting plate on a "push plate" frame mount, uses the winch for lift / height adjustments and a Hydraulic actuator for angle movements. I won't have to get out of the cab when using it.
I'll be happy to get the kind of performance from the Ridge XR HVAC that the fellow in this video got with the smaller, less powerful cousin - Kawasaki Teryx

I will be getting the Kawasaki Plow but the look the same.

Morning all. Lazy weekend. Seems there is a serious lack of motivation. Only thing accomplished was getting the trailer to the dealership to get some stuff fixed and fix the leak. Should be done by the end of the week since they are slow. So slow they are giving me "discounted" labor rates. LOL.

Off to the Monday grinder...

Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. It was 15° this morning when Snoopy decided it was time to go on his morning walk (play session). High Wispy clouds have moved in now. Diffusing the sunlight but we're still up to 29. Not going to melt much snow at that temp.

I like that reduced Labor Rich, but how much is the Extended Warranty / Service Contract covering? Highway Trailer is now infamous for telling you they'll need it for 5 days and then calling in 2 weeks saying it's ready. We never get reduced labor rates.

Service contract is only going to cover the broken kitchen sink drain. Everything else is on me. Estimate is $1200. The upside is this is all AL framing and trusses. Insulation is Styrofoam so I'm told nothing is soaked. Water just ran out. Since they are not real busy, they pulled it in the shop Friday afternoon to let it dry out, warm up, and put dehumidifiers in the roof space. They will reseal everything starting today. Whatever sealant used at the factory was garbage and the service guy agreed but none of that is covered. Should be good to go once done. We'll see if it's done by Friday. Good times...

Somehow the sealant doesn't surprise me. Lance used Eternabond type tape for sealant around the vents, skylight and the cab over seam on the roof. There have been a number of complaints about that, but I haven't experienced any problems yet. I've redone two of the skylights with self leveling. I did one with Proflex and one with Dicor. Only been a year so with those two you can't tell a difference right now.

Well this just isn’t right. Ullr, the Norse god of winter & snow has it in for me. He really hates me for threatening the snow on my lane and driveway.

Home Depot had cancelled the order on the snowblower. They are blaming the credit card company & the Cc company doesn’t know what they are talking about. Got it back on route but now it’s going to be a week later and I’ll have to go into Bend to pick it up when / if it gets to the store.

Today, the UTV dealership called. All the frame work, push plate and mounting brackets for the plow have arrived, but the 72” blade is out of stock and currently not available. They are trying to find a 72” blade that would be compatible. They have the 64 but not the 72. The Ridge XR is 64” wide so I would certainly like to have a plow wider than the machine.

I'm not sure what was used other than it was some sort of cheap self leveling sealant. in 2 years it is discolored and is cracked at every penetration. The Dicor that was used when they did the PDI and filled in the holes is still white. Should have been a clue I guess when some of it did not last a few months. I believe they will seal everything with Dicor.

This sounds vaguely familiar... like DeJa'Vu....

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Started out at 15 and now that the sun is up and higher in the sky, its climbing rapidly to 29 now.

I'll be heading to the valley in a little while. Meeting tonight and perhaps a steelhead that wants to jump in the boat....
