You had to submit a video, telling them why you are even worthy of owning the car. What did you tell them in that video? How did you convince them to sell the car to you?
On my video I addressed it to Jim Owens, who's a very senior marketing guy at Ford who has also worked for Shelby American. In it, I talked about how I've felt a part of the Ford family since I bought my Boss 302 in 2011 and attended the free track day, "Track Attack" and remembered when Jim conceived of the Raptor Assault that weekend. I then talked about furthering that relationship when Ford invited me to try out the new GT500 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2019, ahead of any customer deliveries. I finished by saying I would drive the hell out of the car including taking it to the track to give the new Corvettes the smack-down. I think the fact that I was on some sort of short list of Mustang enthusiasts which got me the invite to Vegas 5 years ago played a big part. And hopefully Jim recognized me, since I've been front and center for his spiels about the latest and greatest Mustangs over the years.
In the last day of the month, I say Fat Diesel should get a white mustang. Inconspicuous color. Cops won't look at it. And it's not as hot in the summer heat. Then you can add all the racing sponsorship stickers and a blue stripe, as a wrap, for track days.

Yep, won't even notice it. The 800+ HP with the titanium exhaust is probably whisper quiet too!
Welp. I guess I'm not going to get ANYTHING done today. I was notified by Ford that my application for the Mustang GTD allocation was ACCEPTED! I haven't felt like this since I got my Atari as a kid...
While I will never have the skills of this driver, I hope to get mine out on track at least a few times. Turn up the sound!
