I was gifted with a striped bass and a bunch of pork shoulder. Quid pro quo. For all the food that people eat from my kitchen. I deboned and separated the seam on the pork, then made 3" thick pork steaks. I filleted the fish, steamed it, and had it with ginger oil.
There's nothing like fresh caught fish. Incredible. Fish from a market does not compare. Tender, soft, flaky, and clean. Just as I remembered it from when I was a kid. When I was a kid, we ate fish that we caught, or bought if from a live tank. In The Big City, you can do that. Fish mongers sell fish that are swimming in big tanks. Frozen fish, or even days old on ice, just does not compare.
Today is the day my mobility scooter arrives. It has been over a month since they took it to their shop. It is pretty much a rebuilt scooter with all the electrical parts being replaced. Hopefully it will last longer than 27 days.
If anyone comes across one of these, let me know. I'll buy it. What's the street value? They'll sell anything for about $20. Just enough money to buy drugs with.
Unreal...It amazes me how uncaring some people can be.
In other news, the mobility scooter works great. It is faster now, and the braking is much improved. I was told by the tech guy that even after replacing the seven parts the scooter still did not work. They had to order the control levers as well. They forgot to order a battery charger as well, so the tech gave me the one he carries in his truck. Rode it yesterday for the first time in over a month and the clicking from the right rear wheel is still there so I will notify the VA they need to order a spacer. However, I am still very happy to have it back.
It started with Bud. They ran an ad campaign. So a bunch of people decided that if Bud wanted to be a gay beer, then they were no longer drinking Bud. It didn't work too well for Bud. Not enough gays drank enough Bud, to make up for the conservatives that stopped drinking Bud.
Big corporations listen to money. When sales fall and stock price plunge, they listen. As most businesses do, they cave to The Dollar. It's a free market economy. In some cases, conservatives are their market segment. Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley Davidson, Bud Light...... I would say that their products are bought by more conservatives than gays. I don't see that many gays riding tractors. Although I could be wrong. I'm not sure how many Fords are sold to whom. Nor do I care. A good percentage of Ford sales is commercial sales. Fleet sales to police departments, utilities, etc. I don't think the telephone company is going to stop buying trucks from Ford because of some DEI policy. I wonder how many individual private people are so conservative, that they are going to buy a Toyota instead of a Ford, because of a diversity program.
Welp. I guess I'm not going to get ANYTHING done today. I was notified by Ford that my application for the Mustang GTD allocation was ACCEPTED! I haven't felt like this since I got my Atari as a kid...
