Less police on the streets means less police work being done. Productivity goes down. No arrest being made means no arrest report. On paper, crime is down.
I have not been watching the olympics, but happened to tune in on Thursday. A couple of things caught my attention.
The first was "sport (or speed?) climbing. Two competitors climb up a 12 (or 15?) meter wall. Damn they're fast! It looked like they were almost running up a veritical wall. Took like 4 or 5 seconds to do the whole climb. Amazing to watch.
The second was Noah Lyles, who everyone thought had a chance to win gold in the 200 meters. He got bronze, and collapsed at the end. Come to find out he had COVID with 102 temperature. Damn! Sick with COVID, and he still wins bronze. Tough dude!
