Total number of vehicles affected likely will not change. The FSA VIN list will get expanded as the software becomes available.

So Ford encourages dealers and customers to have this update done as soon as possible per their document, but takes their sweat azz time to implement code for the rest of the 7.3's.

I looked into it yesterday. My 2024 F350 build date is Feb 24.

I checked my VIN on the Ford recall page and nothing was listed. I also search by model and year and nothing came up for any 2024 or 2023 Super Duty. Any chance it is just to soon for this one to be in the system?

I also called Ford customer support and they said my VIN wasn't shown to be affected. They said that the dealer could have done the update prior to delivery to me. I doubt that because I had ordered this and was notified as soon as it was delivered in March and picked it up right away, long before this recall was announced. She also said if they had performed the recall there would be record of it at the dealer.

I then stopped by the dealer and the service guy I spoke with had no knowledge of it until I gave him the CSP #. After pulling it up he said once they got the notices they would perform the update for my vehicle. He said give it a week or so and check back. He made it sound like the recall VIN's hadn't been received yet. I'd like to think the dealer will eventually be able to show me something that either my truck needs the update or already has it.

While anything is possible, the fact that there were three different pressure readings makes me believe it is an actual reading. (They were 95 on startup, 21 at idle, and 51 @2k in drive.) I could see a 2 level sensor (bad/good/high), but three or more seems excessive. Might as well use an actual transducer at that point.

If we want 'proof', without installing a manual valve I would try seeing what happens at cold startup. If the pressure curves down it should be safe to say it is 'actual. If it only has those three (or four, for zero pressure) then it could be 'fake'.

Algorithms are very good at simulating data.

I wish I still had my 6.2L, or I'd hook up Forscan and see what it said.
I have been waiting 4 months for Helm to get service manuals in stock for my '24 7.3L too...

So I'm stuck for now.

I still wonder why my 2022 F250 Superduty is different than an Econoline built in the same year with a 7.3L. Do we know for sure it is a software/blackbox issue or is it an engine serial number/assembly factory issue?

The E series and F series vehicles will have a different engine and transmission calibration's because of their intended use. E series were designed for commercial, RV and work truck use. F series more for the personal market of luxury and recreational use.

So, same engine, just different calibrations (ECM, etc) due to different intended use is what you are saying?

I'll put another 8,000 miles on mine for the next oil change while you guy's quiver and shake about a flash.

This is my best educated guess as to why. It would be nice to have a Ford engineer who really knows the criteria and qualifiers for the engines that need this software update to explain it here to the forum. Any Ford engineers here to provide comment?

I'm shaking cause I had to nap one long road trip day with work. The wife didn't but when I woke after 50 min I belive up she said it was making a clunking sound now and then. I asked her what exactly sounded like etc. Being a girly she could not get me to even guess what it was. Was it lifters rubbing and or hanging up? Bet you life I'm shaking. I have to nap often on these road trips and leave the truck running due to temps below zero or 100 deg f outside.

I haven't used it much with the ac on this spring (got the truck dec) with the weather being cool all spring in Norther NH.

Crazy idea....idle the truck when done traveling for an hour or so and don't sleep.
