Didn't someone post earlier in this thread they talked their dealer into doing the programming even though their truck was not on the list yet?
EDIT: Post 152
One thing for sure is I'm certainly not going in to get it. After 153k miles and truck runs smooth and shifts great I'm not letting some engineer giving it some "upgraded" tune to ruin whats working perfectly fine for me.

There is so much truth to your statement. I have a friend who runs an independent shop, and my 2005f150 ran like a scalded dog.. He said every truck with the 5.4 3 valve were short on power and none of them ran like mine. He always attributed it to me never getting an update program. I almost did because the fly by wire was hard to get used to and there was a slight delay but I'm glad that I lived with it. One has to be careful because once the original program is gone there is no getting it back

I received a letter from Ford back around 2013 for an emissions recall flash, so took it in during my lunch break and came out with a better shifting transmission (had a lazy 3 gear shift) and it eliminated a low speed acceleration surge or hesitation. Truck ran like a scalded dog and pulled like a freight train before an after the flash update. Still running that same flash version today that I know of.

If it's not broke dont fix it is my rational for this supposed hopeful fix it seems many think is needed. Which possibly it is for some but at the miles I've put on now I believe I'll roll the dice without it.
