Met with the Tech at the range this morning and went over the camera system and the current recorder. He’s going to get us a bid and we’ll be able to use all 16 TB of spare / replacement surveillance drives we have.
After he left, I repaired the two metal gongs and the suspension chains, did a little shooting with the SR762 and did a security review in regards to a complaint that came in over the weekend.
Got back to Alpha and we departed for Bravo in a rain storm.
Something jumped into the car ( picture after we get to Bravo) and rode home with us.
Currently in Oakridge at A&W waiting for our Root beer Floats.
Thanks to Demon Kitty, we were up before six this morning. Looking out from the bedroom window and the second story deck, we watched a young buck grazing down around the pond. Checked the 2 meadow trail cams and he was on one of them. Looks like he had been there most of the night. Shortly after 0600, he moseyed off into the timber.
In the last 48 hours (beginning a couple of days after shooting the coyote) we've seen, either in person or on the trail cams, a single doe, a single buck, a doe with a 6 month old (+/-) and what looked to be a yearling in toe. I very seriously doubt that shooting the coyote has a thing to do with it, but I think we've seen more deer between eyeball and camera in the last 48 hours than we have in the last year.
Warden finally let me get the Henry Golden Boy I've been wanting...

Bummer about lunch Chris.
Had another visitor around 0930 this morning.
The ‘real’ hitchhiker that rode home yesterday. Best of all iI had plenty of Cabela’s points so it was free.

Nice rifle Jim. Always thought something like that would be cool. Love my Marlin 30-30. Guess I need to save up more points. I'm working on an AR build right now. Just need to find a barrel and I can finish the upper.
Still boatless...

I've been saving the club points for some time. But, with the exception of Costco, I buy just about everything I can on the Cabela's Club Card. I use it a lot like a Debit Card. I pay it off weekly, if not daily, and never carry a balance on it, especially into the next billing cycle.
I have it set up for payment on several of the monthly bills, connected it to the Pilot Fuel Account, etc. They wouldn't let me buy the used Lincoln with it last year.

About 10 or 11 months into the year, I qualify for the Black Card which carries through to the following year and that builds points on Cabela's Purchases a lot quicker. Anyway, points build up and it helps pay for the "toys". Military Discounts and Club Member Monday's doesn't hurt any at all either.
I've used to have the 30-30 in an old Model 94 (1930's era), and a Winchester 92 in 32-20, Savage 99E in 375 big bore, Marlins in 45-70, 44 mag and 357 mag. Unfortunately, all of those guns along with all the others went down with the boat when it sunk in that terrible accident. Hoping to avoid another accident like that again. I'd hate to loose the Big Boy - S to the Briney deep!
I think I'm going 223 Wylde on this one but not sure yet depending on what I decide on barrel length. I have a 16 and 20 inch 556.now. I plan on hunting with the 20" this year. I'd like to do a shorter barrel but not sure if I want to go as short as pistol length as I'd like to keep a normal stock. Seems Iike I've read you can do 14.5 if you use a 1.5" flash hider. I don't need it, but I like to build them. Each one has been a little more custom than the last.
Yeah I used to use my card that way also but got to be a pain since I've had issues with it getting cloned or somehow used by crooks. Every time I've gone to Vegas something happens. SMH.
Just got the call the boat is ready. Great except now I gotta pay the bill.
