Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Garage door people were a "No call, No show" today. Just before noon, I gave them a call. Fellow in the office said that they had two employees, including the one scheduled for our job, had suffered injuries and were off work for a couple of days. He said it through their appointment schedule into Kaos and they were trying to work it out now. As soon as they could work it out, they would give me a call to reschedule. I told them that wasn't going to work. We were on a tight schedule and with the exception of a couple of days next week, we were now in a situation where we would not be available until after the middle of July. Suddenly he was able to come up with time for the installs on next Wednesday. Not a happy camper at all. We could have stayed in the Valley, and I could have gone fishing for big fish today.
Probably going to make a trip into Wilco Farm and Ranch in Bend tomorrow. Need to pick up a couple of 12' metal ranch gates they have on sale. Probably stop by the High Desert Museum as well since its between us and Bend.

I got 2 emails back the next day. One from the District Superintendent and the other from the Facilities & Operations Manager.
The Superintendent thanked me for bringing this to their attention and said she had CC'd the Facilities & Operations Manager to "improve our process".
The Facilities & Operations Manager emailed thanking me for bringing this to their attention and "I will make sure every crew member is on the same page and this will not happen again." Hmmm, if I went back to emails from a couple of years ago, I think I could find a carbon copy of that response. Although that time they sent the lawn mower person over with a buck and sponge to wash the car.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. It's shot up from 45 to 61 in just the last hour and promising to be too warm today. Just a few short days ago, our potatoes all froze and the Wardens three 1/4 wine barrel planter flowers froze. One the other hand we have copious quantities of wild blue Lupine blooming.
Yesterdays Overhead Doors no call - no show fiasco was completed in grand style with a call yesterday afternoon cancelling the Monday delivery of the Recliner Sectional. Some pretty hot conversations ensued between myself, the trucking-delivery outfit and Costco. Wanted to reschedule for after the 4th of July. Not happening! Supposedly, they will be making a "Special Delivery" on Tuesday. We'll see. Costco gave us a $100 credit off the price of the sofa. Not much of a consolation prize since this was ordered on May 24th and has now been rescheduled 5 times.
We are going to head into Bend for the Gate panels today and will be stopping at the High Desert Museum. Our Evergreen Air and Space Museum included the Smithsonian Associate Museum Pass. HDM is a part of that network so it will be free to get in.
Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Got sidetracked on a couple of projects. 70-72 depending on which thermometer you look at., clear skies, and heating up quickly.
Still have a gates to hang and a boat to go through and make sure it is all freshened up and ready for next week. New few filter, check the oil, kick the tires, grease the bearings....
High Desert Museum yesterday...
Golden Eagle. Rescued with broken wing. Seemed quite happy in his new home. River Otters. Put on quite a show. Had these on the creek on the old farm in my younger days. I could sit for hours watching them slide down the mud bank. Not sure why, but they left the creek 15-20 years ago. Sheep Herders Wagon Inside of Sheep Herders Wagon. My wife camped out / played in one of these as a young girl. Family owned a large sheep ranch on the Idaho-Montana border. Actual Stage Coach used in a Nevada to California run. Bought by Oregon family and used by them. Has hauled presidents and foreign dignitaries. I'll find him / her one of these days!!!
Back to the grinder after a week of being a river rat. Went 5 for 7 on the fish, one being a nice summer steelhead. Wife was on the ch 12 news Friday night after being interviewed at the ramp regarding the kayak incident with the ferry on Thursday. She did a great job but her interview may have contributed to a few more folks fishing on Saturday. Saw more people fishing Saturday than we had seen the last 2 weeks combined.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Up to 70 under clear and sunny skies.
Had visitors last night. No bright moon lighting up the meadow so we couldn't see them from the house, but the camera got them....Heavy beam seemed to have a problem sharing the green grass down at lone pine.
