Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 33 with high Cirrostratus clouds this morning. Waiting to see if they burn off.
Got into Redmond yesterday and picked up a tow behind yard dethatcher and a 50" yard sweeper. Both of them need to be assembled. Watched a manufacturers video on the yard sweeper and they say it takes about 40 minutes to assemble and put all the pieces together. From what I saw in the video, it looks like it might take an hour just to arrange and inventory the parts before assembly. And then there is the catcher bag that is supposed to be laid out flat with a weight on it for an hour to 'aid in assembly'. So, I guess so that it doesn't count as a part of the 40-minute assembly time I lay it out before I start - then go assemble the dethatcher, have a cup of coffee and THEN come back and assemble the sweeper.
Overhead Door person is supposed to be here around 1500 to 1700 to look at the 4 garage door openers. After he leaves we have to take off for Alpha Compound. Warden has a visit with the dentist tomorrow morning. She was on some meds for a lot of years that causes problems with teeth and bone density. Bone density tested Okay, but the teeth took a heavy hit.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made it into Alpha last night, Warden has oral surgery at 0900.
Didn’t get the dethatcher nor the sweeper assembled yesterday. Got some maintenance done on 2 cars, the camper and the pickup. Overhead door fellow arrived and we went over the three malfunctioning doors. One 2 openers have mechanical problems. The 3rd needed some roller and rail adjustment. Then he found a cracked header support board that also had the chain rail attached to it. I need to pick up a 2x6 for that but for right now I’m going to use nailer plates to patch it. After the G2G trip I’ll replace the board.
They’ll call me with prices on the repairs to the other. He said that even though really old, they still make the parts and fixing would be most likely 50% the cost of new units.
At 9:30 this morning I was sent off to Newport with a delivery then out to Siletz to pickup cedar shingles. So with the late start I worked almost twelve hours straight through.
Morning all. The loaner rig threw a check engine light on the way home last night. I'm guessing that will require a trip to newberg and a swapping of rigs.
This week is "Public Works Week" and we end it with burgers and dogs for my crew and the rest of public works here at the county.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. It was 23 earlier this morning. Started warming up fast once the sun got above the trees.
Back up at Bravo trying to get a few things done.
