Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 23.7 currently and we had a high of 24 today, but no new precip here in Sheridan. Temp can't decide what it wants to do. It's been bouncing up and down between 23.2 and 23.8 for over an hour now. Still have ice and snow all over everything and the road is covered with compact ice and snow.
Got the car and both pickups cleaned off and the doors thawed out and opened today. That took longer than I thought it would. The doors were frozen solid. The trunk of the car was a real bear and I had to get into it to get the pellets for the stove out of it and into the house.
The berm on the porch sidewalk in front of the house from ice sliding off the roof was like concrete. Shovel wouldn't touch it. Pickaxe did but couldn't be used as the berm was removed and it got down close to the concrete sidewalk. I found it was easier to take 5 gallon buckets of hot water and pour on it, let it sit and then use the shovel to scoop it off the sidewalk.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 24 with clear blue sky and sunshine. Secondary Roads here is still compact snow and ice. Hasn't started breaking up yet. Highway 18 is not much better. Highway 18 from the beach to McMinnville isn't much better but you can make out an EB and WB track. Chains required from MP0 to 21.
Weather Alert - Ice Storm Warning for tomorrow 1000 - 2200 hours. Wonderful. But, Thursday is supposed to be 47-50 with rain.

Used the rippers and box blade to break up the driveway so it isnt so slick if any of the appointments show up. Filled the back of the truck up with snow for some weight. I had people working all weekend and so have I remotely coordinating and updating the brass. Back to the grinder tomorrow. Offices are close except for essential services. So while all of the cube dwellers get a paid day off without using leave, some of will be working. Roads were not bad around dallas at all and thankfully people are still staying home. Tomorrow should be fun.

Roads are still pretty trashed around here. Secondary roads are still compact ice and snow. Now we are under a Hazardous Weather Warning and Alert for an Ice Storm between 1000 and 2200 tomorrow.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 20 and overcast. Ice Storm Warning has moved from 10 - 2200 to 1400 - 1600. Guess we'll see. Supposed to warm up tomorrow and rain.
Up at Bravo it is 7° with sunshine, copious quantities of snow and a scattered overcast.
Have an appointment tomorrow morning at 0900 with Polk County Vet Rep at their new office in Monmouth and we are planning on taking off to Bravo Compound from there. We'll give the brand-new Toyo Celsius II All Weather Touring Tires with the 'severe snow' and 'sever ice' rating a workout and test. We need to spend a couple of days up there clearing snow and checking on things. There is also a 45 day - 500 mile trial period on the tires. If we don't like them, we can take them back.

Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 27 and it looks like all plans for tomorrow may be cancelled. Silver Thaw - Ice Storm hit and everything is covered. Then they extended the ice storm alert until 0400. It's not looking like I'm going to be able to get to the appointment in the morning nor get out of the valley and up to Bravo Compound. And, Highway 58 is looking in great shape for a trip over the pass.

Trip to Bravo was been postponed. Leaving this morning.
Washing Machine at Alpha went bust yesterday, load of clothes stuck behind a locked door. Finally got that fixed around 2230 last night. Washer is now working the way is it supposed to. Still no idea why it locked up and quit working.
Electricity to Ceiling Fan in front room, lights and fan in hall and bathroom and lights in both downstairs bedrooms is out. Washing Machine and light problems are unrelated. Just Murphy working overtime.
Still troubleshooting the lights issue. All circuit breakers in the panel in the garage are good as checked by fluke and then by multimeter. Two other places to check, under the house and in the attic. That will have to wait. I'll check those out when we get back.
