Interesting day so far. Alpha yard is mowed. Maybe walking behind a self-propelled today might have been more in the "no strenuous activity for 6 weeks" column than I thought it would be. I wasn't really pushing, just walking behind. Even went to mulch mode so I didn't have to lift and tote full grass catcher bag around. We'll see later tonight if I really over did it or it just feels that way now.
Need to get the car washed after a late lunch.
Got an alert from the bank on a deposit I wasn't expecting and had no idea where it came from. When I got home from the errand I was on, I loaded up the bank site on the computer and figured out the who, but not the why. Next stop was the the vets site where I can see what is going on with the pension. Looks like they have been bouncing the Service-Connected Disability all over the place. Raised the percentage up for 1 1/2 years with retro pay then April 24th, citing improvement in condition, dropped it back down. They also reaffirmed chemical and Herbicide Exposure-Agent Orange while in the Service.
Physically and medically, nothing has changed, in fact 5 days before their April 24th decision, I was in surgery for that condition at the Portland VAMC. On the day of the decision, I was sitting at home with a Foley and a bag, and in my mind, that certainly is not an improvement. Even worse, its still 2-1/2 weeks before I can try to get back to full activity, to include fishing. So, I have a call into my VSO to see if he can explain what is going on.
I wonder if I should hurry up, draw that retro money out of the bank, buy the case of beer ( I think it will cover a full case) and fun for the mountains?

CAT cable pull to supervise at YCSA later this afternoon and then some new people to put through an orientation session and a meet with a Vendor for a project bid. My wife keeps saying something about retirement and retired.....
Have to be at the Salem VA Clinic at 0800 in the morning. Then we're going to go directly up to Bravo from there for a couple of days. I need to get the irrigation pump connected up, primed and ready to run.
Tried to take it easy and do ithings in phases yesterday. A little stiff this morning, but not bad. Lawn was really shooting up so it had to get mowed. Tomorrow I think I'll get the irrigation pump hooked up at Bravo. Pump is in place, just have to connect the input and outputs up then prime it. If something goes sideways that requires lifting or moving the pump, I'll have to call Lynn up and see if he has time to swing by and give me a hand.
Dallas City Budget Committee service for the year is done. Only one night this time. Thank goodness. Planning Commission done for the month. Tonight I cross my fingers and see if I can draw another Weyerhaeuser Permit. Oil change for Godzilla tomorrow, visit our accountant also, work on the house, and keep hoping for the call to go get my boat. <sigh> B.O>A.T. Bankruptcy On A Trailer so I've heard.
One more bit of good news, My double duty as Fleet manager is almost over as we interviewed and are offering one of the candidates the job. Thank God!!!!

Heading out for the VA in Salem and from there, Costco and on up to Bravo.
You'll have plent of money for that Boat as soon as you finish digging that oil well in the back yard.
0800 appointment at the Salem VA went well yesterday. Was out of there by 0915. Instead of waiting for Costco to open we headed out for Bravo. Stopped at the Eugene Costco for a few supplies before continuing on up the mountain. Did some sightseeing on the way back. Covered Bridge, Salt Creek Falls, Odell Lake. Trapper Creek and Princess Creek Campgrounds are all still closed. Trapper Creek still has a good layer of snow, as does everything on the NW side of the Lake. Sunset Cove campground and the boat ramp there is open.
Elk came for a visit last night at Bravo. That young bull was back to playing with the camera. Doesn't appear to have caused any trouble with it this time. They stuck around for most of the night. I had to turn the Stealth Cam App alert tones off last night so we could get some sleep.
The top of Salt Creek Falls near the top of the Willamette pass.
At 286 feet, Salt Creek Falls is the second tallest falls in Oregon.

Warden and I spent yesterday evening doing biscuits. Kept a few out for dinner and vacuum packed a bunch for the freezer and later.
This young bull and a couple of the cows have seemed to have found their favorite play toy.
Yep....it's still there.
