Morning all. Wee bit chilly this morning. 24 when I left the house.
Headed to Sisters tomorrow for a couple days. Going to check out the central OR Sportsmen show in Redmond on Friday morning. Heard the Robin's chirping yesterday so spring must be getting close although it's hard to tell.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Yesterday got rather busy between doctor appointments and a meeting that got a little heated.
I had thought about going to Redmond and spending part of the day visiting with my cousin and part of the day at the show. But, we came down to the Valley instead.
Home Depot is all sorts of screwed up. The refund on the snow blower didn't show up on the credit card account. So, I called yesterday afternoon. After more run around they said the credit had been processed but they couldn't figure out where it was or where it had been sent. After being on hole two or three times and 454 minutes on the phone.........they told me I was going to have to call the Bend store this morning. Got ahold of the gal at the Bend Store and she told me that she doesn't know what they had been doing but they had the whole thing messed up. The refund was not locked up in the computer and there was nothing they could do to clear it. So, they are going to write a check and I'll have to come into the Bend Store to pickup it up. I told her we were down in the Valley and the soonest we could get to Bend would be Wednesday or Thursday. HD is completely FUBAR.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Met with friends at the Otis Cafe in Taft this morning. After a frozen start, it was actually a pretty nice morning on the beach.
Good afternoon Ford Drivers.
Decided that before unloading at a job site that I was getting lunch. So im getting lunch a little North of Neskowin today over looking the Ocean.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 34.6 with a high overcast.
We were going over to Wilsonville for an appointment there. But I cancelled that yesterday.
Supposedly, I had won a drawing from the Sportsman's Show, (that I don't remember entering) for 3 nights and 4 days of free camping at Neskowin Creek or Cascade It got me curious as instead of calling Neskowin Creek or Cascade Meadows RV Resort to make the reservation for our 'free' camping trip, we had to go to the "Wilsonville Camping Information Center" where they would help us pick dates for the reservation at either of the two RV Campgrounds.
After some research and background checks, I found that this is a membership "scam". I suspect, a lot like Thousand Trails, when we get there, we'll get the high pressure push and sales pitch for a $3500 - $4000 membership deal. We have no interest in something like that and getting packed in like cord wood. Found some complaints about not being able to get camping reservations, high prices and continuing annual fees......sounds more like a very expensive Time Share that my sister got into than a camping club.
And they only have two campgrounds! NO THANKS.
Through some other info I found, it appears they may possibly be getting customer databases (mailing lists) from RV dealerships.
Just a heads up - if you have won a free camping trip, check it out closely! You could be in for a high pressure sales pitch.
