Almost the end of the week and an extended holiday weekend at that. Not sure we will make the Sportsman Show tomorrow or not. Wife and I have been sick for a week now and recovery has been really slow. Our enthusiasm for crowds is pretty low. We were supposed to be camping this weekend but bagged that idea too. Hard to get the energy to much of anything.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 36 and wet.
Have a grocery list from the Warden so there will be stop at Costco on the way back to Bravo.
Tracker shows snowblower still sitting in Eugene where it has been. Guess we’ll see what happens later today.
Sportsman show was so-so. Gary and I both thought something seemed lacking this year. A chicken sandwich they wanted $15.00 for was a no go, BiMarts had lots of ammo, but in a small super crowded area and was lacking on variety and some calibers. No .357, NO .17 HMR at all and .45 in ball only. I did pickup a few lures and some lens cleaning / anti fog stuff.
Thanks for the show report Jim. We are going to portland on sunday for a nail salon supply run but will skip the show.
Working on getting the boat ready. One of the few friends I have is moving to Utah so next weekend a few of us are going to jetboat the santiam as a send off since that is where we all met.for the first time.
At least it's dry today. .

Lots of fishing gear, prices seemed high. Lots of boats some ORV’s of various varieties, some campers & trailers and one very expensive snowmobile.
Made it to Bravo about 1515. Uneventful trip. And, as it appears now, a wasted trip.
The Snow Blower did not arrive again today as promised. Tracking sheet says it hasn’t moved since 0554 Monday. Now it appears that it might be MIA.
Just got off the phone with Home Depot a few minutes ago. It supposedly arrived in Eugene at a HD Warehouse at 0612 last Friday. Apparently they called a contract Carrier ‘G Force’ Trucking. If I understand it correctly, it left the warehouse in Eugene at 0518 on Monday morning and was in G Force Trucking hands (shipping facility?) at 0554 Monday. From there it now seems to be a ghost. When it didn’t arrive Tuesday, which was the drop dead date , I called Home Depot. He couldn’t understand why it hadn’t been delivered and called the company. I could not understand the excuses. But delivery on Friday was promised.
This evening I got a little worried. After talking to the carrier she got back to me and said she had to give them 5 days from assignment, so she has to wait until Monday before launching an investigation into where it is and why it has not been delivered.
Seems like utter nonsense to me. I think I need to see if I can’t get ahold of someone with some horsepower.
Watching rain as I work on taxes...mostly for wifes business. Still not feeling well.
Wow Jim whoda thunk it would be so hard to get a snow blower. Crazy.
I’ve got to be working on taxes as well but my sister has failed to get me the estate paperwork I need to do my taxes. We were supposed to see the estate accountant she hired on Jan. 8th or 9th but that fell through.
The snow blower has been nonsense. I thought we were on course to actually get it at the beginning of the delivery window last Friday since it was logged into Eugene at 6 in the morning. That didn’t happen though. It is taking it longer to get from Eugene to here than it did from New Jersey to Eugene.
We loaded the Piano in a truck outside Perrydale and had it delivered up here less than 4 hours later. Eugene is only 100 to 115 miles away depending on which part of Eugene it is coming from. I’m not sure I understand why it didn’t come up the Santiam Pass to HD in Bend, then a local delivery 50 miles away from Bend.
We’re going to need a riding mower this spring. I guess you know it most likely will not be coming from Home Depot unless they have it on the ground at the store and I can pick it up myself.
This is actually the 2nd time we’ve had problems with Home Depot not being on time and pulling ‘no call no shows’. Most likely won’t be given the chance for a third.
