All I know is that I will not be paying for the subscription until they have this feature. The factory nav took us down a dirt road on our trip to the UP that turned into a one lane snowmobile path through the woods. This is with the nav set on no off road 4wd preference set, since their is no option for no dirt roads. By the way we was towing our camper, partially my fault for not checking the route before hand and trusting the nav. I put in the route in google maps afterwards and it took us the main roads like it should. Mine expired last week, going back to garmin and Waze through car play.

I've found that the factory navigation works well when not towing. It does a good job of identifying destinations, speed limits, road closures, etc. But, I'm relying on my Garmin 890 when towing the RV. The Garmin has kept me out of trouble with low bridges, off road routing, etc. However, I've had a couple of routing "quirks" with the Garmin when encountering road closures, maintenance or traffic delays. On a recent trip to Wyoming the Garmin routed me off a main intestate and had me down to 98 miles to empty in one instance. I now lean toward ignoring Garmin's alternative routing options. I guess no system is perfect.
Are there any Ford vehicles that have the "trailering feature" ?
earlier in the thread someone said it worked on F-150s. Also someone had it on their 250 until and update removed it.
My guess is Ford had something happen, and they don’t trust the data, and they don’t want someone to go under a bridge and rip the roof off their 5th wheel and sue them.

Makes sense but they're still charging for it so now they may find themselves in a class action suit. Chances are the Ford lawyers have done the analysis and chose this path they have taken,
From what I understand you have to subscribe to fords traffic and weather subscription
I've subscribed to the navigation system (includes live traffic and weather), but do not have the trailer routing option available in the navigation system.
Hello all. I got my 2022 F250 about 4 months ago and was really looking forward to trailer nav as well. It was not on my menu either, connect to trailer or not. I just talked to Ford and they had no answer. I am betting it will come in a future update. The rep on the phone had no info on an upcoming update. Let's hope it comes soon. Would love to have it.
I just spoke to Ford, again today, July 28 2022. Per Technical Consumer Customer Service, the Nav System chip and software for the F250 does not, and will not, support Trailer Tow Navigation. For some reason, which I assume is chip shortage, Trailer Tow Nav will only be on the F150. Very disappointing to say the least. The F250 is focused on towing and should have been a priority for Ford to have Trailer Nav available. Oh well. Hopefully I can find a trucker nav system for my phone that supports CarPlay.
There goes hope for a software update to add trailer navigation. Let us know if you find a trucker nav that is supported by car play. I have TruckMap but it won’t go through car play. Maybe the 23’ model will have this feature, or they will still advertise it does. Probably only cost 2,500 more than 22’ for it. 😒

Shoot, they told me it was just software. I still find it hard to believe that the increased subscription revenue Ford would get from fixing this wouldn't pay for a solution, even if that means replacing the chip. The problem is, how do you talk to someone who's high up enough to get something done?

Just read an article about the next version of CarPlay. The most important news are that Apple will allow “gas finding” apps and “specialty mapping” maps to show up. The “gas finding” is neat (I love GasBuddy) but the “specialty mapping” will for sure include apps the specifically route trucks and RV. I have been occasionally using TruckMap or more often RVWizard, and if I can have them in CarPlay I’ll be golden!!!!

I guess I need to trade my F-450 in on a F-150 to pull my 16k pound 5th wheel; great idea Ford.

😂 That’s a good one, anybody use RV life? It has it on car play but it has mixed reviews. I’ve downloaded the app but you have to pay for the navigation to work.
To all of you who have discovered that trailer towing navigation is not and will not be offered on the Superduty line up of trucks but it is offered on the F150 (pull your head out of your @#$ Ford) I am considering filing a class action lawsuit against Ford. The primary reason I went with the Lariat package ($$$$) was the SYNC 4 navigation which is only available in the Lariat or above trim. I was never told (because even my dealer is surprised that Ford is not making this available) that even though it is in the owners manual which I was able to review prior to ordering it is not supported. If you are interested, please respond to this post. My lawyer tells me if I can find several people interested, it can be considered a class action.
