I haven’t been able to find an RV towing App that will display on the Sync 4 screen. I did find the Sygic Truck App (paid subscription) with RV capabilities that seems to work, but I’ve only tried it a couple of times. However, you have to navigate from the phone screen instead of from the Sync screen.

Me either. I was told that Roadtrippers Plus is working on a version of their app for Apple CarPlay, but it's not out yet. And even when it does, I'm not sure how reliable it will be as far as RV routing goes. I have the app and use it for trip planning, but it has several disclaimers about route avoidance accuracy. I really wish I could get something viable to show on the Sync 4 screen, but so far the only choices I've found are cell phone only or dedicated RV/Trucker GPS units.
It would be great if you could post an update on that Sygic Truck app after you've tested it more, I'd be interested!
I’m not sure how much I’ll be using the Sygic Truck app now other than for route planning. I broke down and purchased a Garmin RV 780 for use when towing the 5th Wheel.

LOL - now we've come full circle to 2014 - not paying $150 to update the Nav every year in the Fusion - bought a Garmin for $300 with perpetual update capability. Wonder what drawer that thing is in?

With guys like cyanlabs is there a reason to ever pay the $150?
I was planning to call but you've saved me the trouble. Since Togo and RV Life Pro don't work with Android Auto, I'm leaning towards a Garmin or Rand McNally GPS made for RVs. Thanks for sharing!
Forget the Rand McNally, they are not very good. I have their RV Tablet that has the "dash cam" which is the reason I got it. It is way too heavy and no mounts out there will keep it from shaking. The maps are also out of date. It had me going around a non existent roundabout. I was traveling a quarter mile off the main road I was on. I was comparing it to the navigation that came in the 2012 F350 which didn't have any of the roads I was on, they were 5 year old roads. Stick with Garmin.

I hear you RDavis, and I'm leaning that way too. I used a Garmin on my motorcycle for years, and I was happy with it. Adding custom POI's was an awesome feature, and in case you haven't heard of it, here's a link to a site that I really liked:

Thanks acdii, that's useful info. I had good experience with a Garmin on my motorcycle, so I was already leaning that way. Amazon has the RV 780 and the RV 890 at the same price ($399) but I haven't studied the features yet to see which one to get.
Which is a feature easy to undervalue…
Exactly yesterday I was in Plymouth (CA) with my trailer and was going direction of South Lake Tahoe. I did plan the trip on RVTripWizard, but then I got on the truck and entered the destination there. This AFTER the truck rightly sensed the trailer attached and in tow mode.
It proposed the usual “fastest” through Placerville and a “shortest” option, and since I had time I foolishly went for “shortest”, thinking that since I was in Amador wine county it would have been nice to wander around… Well, it got me straight to Camino on the HWY50 through a maze of almost-single-lane little country roads, very badly maintained, with continuous up and downs and hairpin turns at 20% incline where the truck could only do 1st gear. Something that would give me pause with just the truck only, not even considering the trailer. I really, really thought I was going to get stuck somewhere without any possibility to turn around…
Well, the good news is that I made it, I only had to stop a few times to let someone from the other direction pass by. But someone would think that a navigation system that knows you have a trailer attached would be smart enough to take it into consideration before suggesting a route…
(…It won’t happen again, next time I’ll be way more careful)

My trial subscription to Ford's Navigation expires in mid-May. If by then it includes the RV Navigation, then great, I'll subscribe. If not, screw em, I'll use Android Auto and Google Maps. I'm not going to pay for an inferior Navigation system.

Garmin should be creating iOS/Android apps that are Carplay/AndroidAuto compatible.... or Ford should just license the tech and data from Garmin.

I know. I would pay a reasonable fee if Garmin came out with a decent Android Auto app that would display on the main screen. I really don't want any extra hardware on the dash.

My subscription expires about a month before yours. When I read the section in the owner's manual about the RV nav, it says you need Synch 4 and an "Active Subscription". Now I don't know what they define as "Active" but I'm wondering if it means "Paid" rather than "Trial".
Then there are the folks who have called Ford and gotten zero information about the feature. Maybe it is a planned upgrade that they got the words way too far in front of the actual function.
In the mean time, I'll keep using my Garmin RV 1090 and let the truck be the backup method. We have had a few instances where Garmin directed us to do something odd but we could see the roads on the map were going to the same place.
For @kshoop1958 who was looking at the RV 790 and 890 - I don't think there is any difference in features on any of the three Garmin RV models other than screen size.
One feature I like about my Nuvicam that I am still looking to find an RV version of is the dash cam feature. If your going to have something stuck on the dash, include a dash cam with it. In today's litigious society, having a dash cam can save a lot of headaches when someone pulls out i front of you and you hit them. Not like it happens all the time, but it only takes one time! When I had crashed into a white car in a blinding whiteout that was in the middle of the road without any hazards on, the dashcam showed the car was not seen until moments before impact.

I purchased the $80 subscription in the off chance the trailer towing navigation would eventually become available. At this point, it has not. I use the navigation when not towing the RV, but Apple or Google would be as good, if not better. I probably won’t renew my subscription next year unless the towing navigation becomes available, and it proves to be at least good as the Garmin RV 780 I recently purchased.
