Any update on this? I do not have the "trailer routing" menu on my F-450; with or without the 5th wheel hooked up. Interested, I just got this e-mail from Ford trying to get me to subscribe; I would like to know which are "select vehicles". Why would they put this option on F-150's and not F-450's; the real towing rigs.
One would think that "select vehicles" would include superduties since they're meant for towing large trailers. But it's not available on mine. I'll use waze and other apps on my phone. I'm not paying an $80 annual premium for a mapping program that is lacking.
Me either. I was ready to renew for 1 year just to try it, but I will not unless the "trailer routing" works. I showed this to me dealer and got the "deer in the headlights" look. I sent Ford customer service a message asking about it.
For not it will be Google maps and my truckers atlas to avoid low clearances; same as always.
I have been on the Ford Customer Service chat session twice today. The first one lasted 1.5 hours; ended with the agent disconnecting and a survey popped up. The second one lasted 55 minutes. After explaining the problem a second time, and going through all the menus, the agent told me to take it to the dealer. I told her that has already been done, the dealer knows nothing about it. At that point, she said stand by, I'm looking into it. Next, the chat session ended and another survey popped up; guess you know what score I gave them. My subscription expires in a couple weeks, so this is the last chance to work on it; I'm done with it. Don't waste your time asking Ford about this issue.
You're unhappy because Ford isn't helping you with a feature that was not advertised and you don't have? What am I missing here?
Yes, you are missing something; what do you mean not advertised?
According to my owners manual page 612, "trailer routing" is part of Sync 4 Connected Navigation (no "if equipped" disclaimer) and should be on my system. Ford also sent me an email trying to get me to subscribe to Connected Navigation when my trial period ends next month; one of the features advertised in the email is "including a trailering feature that suggest the best route based on your towing specifications". Could not be much clearer that we should have "trailer routing".
It was advertised and continues to be advertised, but I do not have it; that is what I am trying to get Ford to help with.
I stand corrected then. I have Sync 3 so I don't have any reference to that.
No problem; I used to have Sync 3, don't think it was ever an option with that. I consider this a dead horse now. I won't waste anymore time trying to talk to Ford or a dealer; I'll let the trial subscription expire and use Android Auto.
Get an RV or truckers GPS is the best suggestion I have. Better place to put your money for towing purposes. Rand McNally is one of the best if you ask me.
I like the built in nav for general driving around but never enough to pay for it if you have google maps. i use mine (the built in nav) all the time, but I would no pay for a subscription when you get nav for free with google.

I let my trial subscription expire in late April. I was surprised that the built-in nav page on the 12" screen still moves as I drive and shows my exact location even though the destination entry and routing functions no longer work. We use a Garmin 1090RV for trailer related routing. If Ford ever decides to enable the trailer routing feature on the built-in nav for the Super Duty owners I might consider paying the annual subscription. Of course, by then the price will probably be doubled.
I think just the Opposite. I have a RM tablet RV GPS and it is way too heavy and not at all like what the Garmin is. The dash cam is not integrated with the GPS, have to manually control it and the thing is so heavy that no mount can keep it steady. Their maps are also out of date compared to Garmin. I just wish the Nuvicam had an RV version. I use Basecamp to plan the route and upload it to the Nuvicam.

They leave the vehicle tracking part of the nav screen work so it will be a constant reminder to get you to renew the subscription.
Meh, Car Play is advanced now to the point the car navs are useless. It wont be long before car infotainments will be a blank screen to plug your phone into.

That's how it should be now. Same with Garmin and other GPS makers .. Give me an option to get the app and forgo using their device.
