What Ford and other manufacturers need to do is team up with Garmin for their mapping software. At least this way they can provide RV mapping, and could do annual subscriptions for map updates over the air. Oh, but wait, Ford has eliminated the 4G modems, so guess WiFi updates only.
100% agree with you. However, the 4G modem delete is new to me. My 2022 has the modem cause they keep pestering me to enable it, but I've not done that yet. The only reason I can see to do that is to get live view from my dashcam, which I'm not sure is worth the monthly, but maybe I'm missing something???

It's too late for me. I waited until I had my truck saw there was no nav for the trailer dimensions and immediately purchased a Garmin RV unit. I live in my 5th wheel and tow it with me everywhere so I wasn't about to wait for Ford to pull their head out of their 5th point of contact.
Unless the offered it free or just a small initial fee I'm out. My Garmin has free updates and an app that works with the GPS and my phone.
After this introduction and support by Ford, would you really trust your $$$$ RV to a Ford supplied gps purporting to be trailer-height/component sensitive???

I just downloaded an app called Sygic. They claim Sygic is the most downloaded navigation app with offline maps on the market, with over 200 million downloads. Also is compatible with Android Auto and I believe Apple Car Play. They also claim to be the first RV app to work with Android Auto. You can also download any maps so it will work offline. They claim to have a smaller footprint than google. I have tried RVLife and it seems pretty clumsy. What I really want is for google maps to create an RV/towing option, but that doesn't seem to be happening. The last think I want is another screen to look at when driving, so I want it on my Sync screen. I also want to be able to use whatever software i use to work offline as I typically avoid major cities when towing to avoid traffic so I never know when I won't have service. I haven't actually tried it towing yet but I have entered a few destinations and seems to work. Seems promising and time will tell.
I looked at Sygic, but the multiple bad reviews steered me away from it. Another one that looks like it could be useful is Copilot GPS. It's built for RVs and seems to have good reviews but doesn't have CarPlay compatibility. Like you, I don't need another screen to look at so want something that will display on my main screen. I am currently using RVLife, but like you said, it's spotty at best. Sometimes I don't get voice notifications to turn, other times it will repeat like 100 times to drive straight, etc. All in all, it works, but it's not great.

Garmin works offline. It was also 100% accurate when recommending gas stations. I have a 7.3 gas CCLB DRW and a 43ft 5th wheel and every gas station Garmin RV recommended could fit me in the gas pump lanes.
I hate having to look down at the screen in the center of the dash I mount my Garmin on the passenger side/center so when I look at the rearvieq mirror the Garmen is just beyond it. The Garmin has a lot of features and options I dont think the Ford nav would have included anyways. I'm glad I have it instead of anything else.

Glad you like it; I don't want another screen/holder on my dash. I don't even like the phone being there. I honestly wish the factory screen was just a "smart terminal" I could mirror my phone to. I guess that is what Android Auto/Car Play do but all apps are not compatible with them.
What I found very interesting about this podcast was he mentioned a new 6.7 High Output engine with more payload, torque and HP than any other diesel engine on the market. I can't wait for the order banks to open on Oct 17. Ford hopes to release 2023 Superduties in Q1 of 2023. I will be ordering myself a new one.
Ah, I see what you did there. LOL So Ford is finally chizcanning their camera system for an all new one. Hopefully it exceeds the GM system. 4 engine choices, 6.8 replaces the 6.2, 7.3 and 6.7 standard options like today, and an HO 6.7. They are also bringing the F-150 stuff over like the on board generator and trailering features.
IT sounds like the MY23 will have the Nav w/ trailer towing feature.
Right. They also told me my 2022 would have it. I have several e-mails saying I would have trailer towing navigation; right after I pay them $80; now we know that was a lie.
I agree with Rednex and the others who don't think we will be seeing this feature in our Sync 4 Super Duty - ever. Unless, as Farley has so frequently stated recently about various other technology features, Ford can figure out a way to monetize it.
They already have; $80/year to keep sync 4 navigation working. I feel for those that paid the fee and then found out it did not include trailer towing navigation.
