no a reg cab is not .
a cold fact with a scale ticket to back me up. my 05. f250, lariat, sc, swb. 4x4,v10, auto trans with 17's,full tank load. my big fat six out of it. sat on the state scale at 6600 pounds even. that div. by 355hp = 18.59 pounds per horse. to get moving. plus we have the advantage of 4;10'S or 30's ver dodges 390's only. IMM only that can give us a advantage off the line while the dodge could out pull us way upstairs in the lights , it's too late by then. add a tuner that turns off the top end limiter as i have done. they wind up a few trucks behind every time.
please if some has a dodge scale weight . what is it? against it's 345 hp
Kind of not related to the main topic, but I think adding in a roush charger to a 5.4l would make the truck a lot faster. Would it by any chance affect MPG? The brochure says $5,000.00 for a roush charger, add 100hp to your 5.4l v8.
Crazy money, but I think an F150 with close to 400hp would kick ***.
Well I am still waiting to try on a Hemi and if it a light little 1500, it probably will beat my big CC 4x4 longbox but I still can not get over how well this 7500 pound truck moves out.
I have an 02 Honda Accord Vtec and these are not fast cars but they are not real slow either. My big V10 will smoke this car. Your tiny little GM gasser pickups that look like imports when they pull up beside me, I have embarassed them. The 05 V10 is a neat motor and what a pity they don't put it in the F150. That would make Hemi-roid owners a little more respectful of the Ford F150.
I know that steve, but they do not make them anymore, so the best thing next to a lightning with these new models would be adding the roush super charger in them. Unless they are coming out with new lightnings, or have new models for sale. I believed they were discontinued in 2003? Not sure though.
There are 04 Lightnings avalable still on lots with zero miles (or close), and there are low mile used omes available. I bought an 03 with 18,500 miles this spring for $19,900.
It has 21,000 on it now. I like the pre-current style better anyhow.
Hemi is a complete joke especially in a HD truck. It has little torque to speak off so it falls on its face when pulling a heavy load. Hemi this or Hemi that. Its not winning me over. Hey Fords always had the best truck period end off discussion. The motors with the great low end torque for pulling. Last time I checked a truck is made to haul heavy loads not to win drag races. Load up a heavy trailor put em side by side . The Ford will waste the hemi pretty fast in that situation. Dodge has put a hemi in everything they make. There selling a name thats it. Some young guys with these Dodges think there pretty hot though. Think there so fast. Hey I know I have the best truck I dont need to prove anything
no it's not in a eny of that, iv seen them at convention's and car shows, though i have seen it in mag's to, listen it's on avreage im not saying every truck will. plus iv sead it plenty of times now, i like ford almost as much as chevy, this is just what iv seen and heard, i dont want to make you guys mad just wanted to let you know. jeeez, it's no big deal.
What I find to be funny is that in HD pickups people are constantly comparing the hemi to the V10. Well dohhh, of cours the V10 is stronger, it is a lot bigger. Compare the hemi with the 5.4. Whic is closer to its size, and quite frankly, the hemi crushes any of the NA 5.4's , and I own a 5.4!
