Well the dyno I'm sure adjusts the numbers............but the torque multiplication is quite simple.......500 pounds of torque through a 4.00 gear reduction is 2000 pounds.
The bottom line.....using your numbers is the d*i*e*s*e*l is still putting over 200 pounds more "to the ground"

ok, yeah v10's are strong but you can get just as much power outa the chevy v8, with much better fuel economy, whats a couple extra HP, if yur gunna be runnin outa gas the hole time. really though chevy and ford rock, they both have great power, looks, and off road capabilaties. but evryware iv gone or seen chevy has had the upper hand more then ford or dodge.

LMAO!!! The 8.1 gets 1-2 MPG LESS than the V10 while making less power;
STRIKE 1
Chevy and "off road capability"?? LMAO again!!
STRIKE 2
"evryware (sic) iv (sic) gone chevy has had the upper hand...."
Dude, it's obvious from your mastery of the English language you haven't gone too many places.
Hey, I gotta back ya all the way on this one marauder. I was gonna write something myself but didn't feel like starting another V10 gets better mileage war, even if it is %100 true. Yes, I will see 8 driving to the lake to night but I've also seen over 15 driving with an egg under my foot and a 10mph tail wind, the key is in wind and your own right foot. I don't average 15 as my foot has a tendency to be quite heavy, its more around 11-13mpg depending on the day.
And just for chevyman101, a v10 excursion recently raced a 8.1L burb, Guess who won????? The V10 did, mark another hash on the dash. This was just recently posted in the V10 forum, and to top it off it was a 2V V10. We all awaited the results as we realy weren't sure who was gonna win this one. We figure the V10 would spin up quicker so even with the weight disadvantage we were kinda thinking it was gonna come down to the drivers, I think the V10 pulled him by about a length, can't remember for sure though.
wow, who the Edited by Admin how stuff is spelled. you know what i mean, and like i said, i like ford, (dude) lol, you cant argue fact's, chevy is better in more thangs then ford, for now, but you never know whats next. ford makes a hell of a truck, they really do, but i say chevy is on top, for now.

thats great, i dont really care about how fast it can go, through the quarter mile, it matters on wich truck will outlast the other, and the chevy will,FACT
FACT!
hahahahahh. thats not a fact, thats a biased opinion. Key word being opinion. I've seen fords last longer than chevys and vise-versa, but I see three times as many old rust bucket fords on the road than rust bucket chevys.
Also, longetivity of the truck means nothing in this thread, were talking about how fast they go, not how long they will last.

I, for one, care how stuff is spelled.
It makes it very difficult to read when the author is illiterate.
It it also makes it hard to believe any claims, false or not, when one who is illiterate is making said claims.
To say, "chevy is on top, for now" means nothing when being written by such a person as described above.
Maybe during his second year of boarding school chevyman"201" will be available. During the second year all the truths come out about what terrible trucks GM really makes.........the first year 101 class is just to get the young pups all excited.........only to be let down in the very near future.
Alright, I don't want this thread shut down as I've been having a good time arguing my points, opinions and my own biasness. let just relax and get back to the dodge being a hotrod. Chevyman101 seems to be here to cause a bit of an up roar!
Again chevyman 101, this thread is only about how fast things are and really nothing else, maybe you should have read the first four pages. We really don't even care about fuel mileage even if your dilusional enough to think the 8.1 gets better mileage than the V10, whatever the voices in your head are telling you.
Please just calm down a little, and QUIT on the personal remarks.
I haven't editted a post or locked a thread in here for about a month. I don't want to have to start now.
