OK...supermarket trip complete...groceries put away...gonna have to stop on my next trip and get a refund...they overcharged me for a steak I bought. Now...on to the morning paper.
I stopped at the car wash on the way home to vacuum the Soobie...there was an older woman who had just pulled out of the car wash using a chamois on her older Avalon. Just as she finished...the skies opened up and washed her car for her...again.

Aww Ken... I just watched the weather Was hoping to not run the AC 24 hrs a day but looks like it too will get a work out
I can usually get away without turning the A/C on until early afternoon...I've got a good sized fan which takes care of me until then. A/C in the BR is on a timer...set to start an hour before I go to bed. The electric company loves me.
I'm not wealthy enough to afford central A/C...although it would be nice. When I do the remodeling on the condo...I'm going to check out mini splits however. Windows being mounted and balanced 10/5.
Ken, the mini splits are nice from what I have heard. My grandparents had the central HVAC system put in after they had the second floor finished. They got a heck of a deal on the entire system including the duct work having to be installed. That system lasted over 20 years. The new system is alot more efficient and quieter then the old system.
Tasty Taco Tuesday morning Massachusetts, Ken, Don, Lin, Tim, Bud, Shaun, and crew.
Going to be HOT and humid here with an Index of 97°+! Rains and storms are predicted but where, when and how much is in dispute according to the various Soothsayers! We will see whos defective crystal ball is closest.
Tim that is some good looking watermelon and looks like plenty of rind to make watermelon rind pickles!!!
Ken the cowboy candy really isn't that hot or spicy. I turns out to be pretty mild because of the vinegar but has a sweet taste from the sugar and spices!
Lin, nice looking science experiment you got there! Bubbling is a good thing when starting Mead or wine! I haven't made any for a long time. When we (Boys a group of us that ran around and got in trouble together) were in school we made wine every summer. We had gathered the things we needed and made it up the hollow in shat we called the cave. I was a large opening in the mountain side under a rock cliff. We collected large rocks and closed it in and eventually made a doo and put on it. We did everything there and keep it stored there after bottling. It stayed a pretty constant temperature in the back year round. It was the ideal place. We made apple wine, Grape, Blueberry and some mixes based on what we had! I haven't been there for about 30 years and I am not sure that Mike or Steve that own the land have either. But I bet there may still be some bottles still there. May have to stake a hike and see!
Bud, Believe it or not we only are half of it, I'm thinking the other half will be devoured this morning. And the chickens love the left overs.
Lin, Sorry about the job offer not turning out good. Your mead looks like it's got a good start!
THAT was Maria?!?! I thought you went and ran away with a younger gal. Sure wish I could eat watermelon as much as I'd like to.

Same kind of weather for about 3 days starting tomorrow...looks like your new heat wave won't reach us.

Wouldn't it be nice if everything cost the same as it did 20 years ago??? Of course...we still want our current wages. It wouldn't be practical to install a conventional central A/C...no ducts...mini splits would definitely be the way to go...if they fit in the budget. Undoubtedly...I'll be looking at a new furnace in the reasonably near future...current one is the original...34 years old. I understand the heat feature on the mini splits would be inadequate in our climate. More research needed.
Oh as a side note I have a very good friend who was the County Extension agent for 35 years and is still on the local TV station with farm, plant, recipes and other info! He has retired from the extension service!
But he was licensed to produce a given amount of alcohol. I helped him make about 200 bottles a year. Some good stuff!

That is why we went with the central HVAC system when we did originally. We had the original 1943 gas furnace inspected and the inspector found a crack in the side near the burner.

You snuck in while I was typing Rod...not quite as bad here...but...pretty darn close. I prefer to get my booze at the package store.

We'll see how it works out...and...what the benefit would be when I sell...sooner rather than later. Ultimately...what is the return on my investment???
Good afternoon all...just a nasty day in Western MA...there is some sun peeking through the clouds...temp got up to 86* with 70% RH...just plain nasty. Chance of rain in the forecast through tomorrow at least...possibility of boomers.
Got a call a couple hours ago...Jonathan needs a ride to basketball practice this evening...this is the team that probably won't be a team...but...they still are having practices just in case. No big issues...Jonathan LOVES basketball...and...playing and practicing can only help him get better. I'm guessing that there will be a Captain's Practice for football tomorrow. No bigs...Uncle Uber is on duty.
