IT'S AUGUST...SUMMER IS HALF OVER
Everything is well in Washington.
Lin, Good luck with the new job offer!
So this last week is like having a full time job again, except I'm not getting paid. I am the president of our little water system and we have been re-classified as a Group A which means now the state of Washington wants to over see everything. We have to have a certified well operator, lots of water testing and lots of compliance thing to figure out. AND now we have to install water meters so we can track our leakage and keep it below 10%. The consensus I got from the emergency meeting I had Thursday night is that we are also going to install backflow devices at every home also. That will require yearly testing as well.
Anyway things are settling down, I have a certified operator hired, I have the well guy coming in next week to do some clean up on the plumbing at the well house. And I have started a plan for the construction project.
Morning Shaun-ster...missed you this morning. Of all the things I've lost over the years...it's my mind I miss the most. Enjoy your weekend in the wilderness...just be wary of the tigers...and...lions...and...bears...oh my!!!
Tim GL on all the FT stuff you need to do, lots of work there !
Well, NO MORE out front for the girls unless I am sitting with them. Hawk came down and swooped in... missed , and they all ran back into the coop. poor things. I was inside and just caught the swoop in the camera and I flung open the window... hawk scattered away. At least it was just one. She was in a tree I couldn't see.
Hens now have a yummy wet mash and a ton of hay in the run to keep them busy and their minds on the ground, locked up and safe.
I knew the day would come , oh well.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
It has been a catch up day after being gone for 2 days.
But the yard is cut, some weed eating done, another batch of Elderberries picked and will be processed shortly.
Mo is being good to us with mostly cloudy, 84° and sticky bit so far no rain. All the Soothsayers Crystal ***** are on different Astrological times. Rains or Storms were/are predicted differently by each. So far most of the tarot card predictions have not came true. Hope that is does not tonight at least until after midnight!
Becky and a friend are going to a city park for "Launch a Lantern on the Lake" event tonight.
Way too warm to be outside...currently 86*...which is OK...but...60% humidity is beyond the uncomfortable range. I'm thinking it won't be too long before the A/C comes on.
Is Becky involved in the International Water Lantern Festival I've heard reference to???
Virtually nothing accomplished today...severely lacking in motivation...tonight...I'll accomplish nothing either. At least I'm consistent.

Saawx lost a heart breaker in the first game of today's double header...1-0...wasting a spectacular pitching performance by Nick Pivetta...1 hit allowed...1 walk...5 strike outs over 6 innings. They brought in their closer to pitch the 7th...hoping to get the game into extra innings. He threw 1 pitch and it wound up in the left field bleachers. Just like that...game over.

On to supper.

Hope y'all are having a great day!!!

/QUOTE]What happened on the 8th and 9th ?
Nice cloudy day. I've not gone out, hens are locked in from now on so I am sure they will be squakers later. Got a neighbor that has some veggie scraps I will give them and I'll give her some small eggs

Other then that I'm not doing much other then sitting around. I do need to go out and get a LONG spoon for the Mead stirring but I can procrastinate that till later
Gonna be another scorcher in Western MA...currently 78* with 75% RH...rather sticky. Temp is gonna rise to the mid to upper 80s...and...the humidity will continue...possibility of showers this afternoon. Hope it's nicer in your little slice of heaven!!!Just got home from brekkie with "The Crew"...ordered take out from Bonnie B's Country Kitchen in town and met at the banks of the CT River in Turners Falls. The river is still extremely high from all the rain we had a couple weeks ago...along with the heavy rains VT got last week...and...it's an ugly brown color. The ducks floating around the river didn't seem to mind though. Great friends...great food...great conversation.
Saawx won the second game of yesterday's double header...scoring a run in the top of the eighth for the 2-1 victory. They are 3 games behind the Rays now.
A day full of slacking in my world...morning paper...some TV...some reading...some napping.

Hope y'all have a great day!!!
[QUOTE=BPofMD;20007752]Morning Ken, Lin, all MASS and visitors.... looks like a beautiful day here for a b-day party. Starts at 2 and goes till they kick us out.
