Morning all.... sorry for being away for a bit. Just wrapped up 120hr work stretch with no days off.
I have a question, what are phasers on an f150 engine? I've never heard of the term, aside from star trek.....

 

Morning Patrick. The phasers you are asking about are the camshaft phasers. They control the variable cam timing on the engine. The phasers on the 5.4 3 valve have a tendency to fail. Here is a good video about replacing them and a bit of how they work.

Lin, Sorry to hear the neighbors are not with the program and you were up too early. That is what I like living in the woods. Your trash Pandas or in my case Cat food bandits don't survive long here!
As for Air rifles and like bud indicated, there are some really nice Game pellets on the market. Much safer than the old crossmans! The do the job with low or no collateral damage!

Speaking of Air Rifles, has any one looked into "Mini Sniping" It is a bigger sport than I ever thought. I have known about it for 40+ years. It is a "Backyard" sport and boy can it get expensive. I was in one of the local gun shops and they were setting a scope on one for a guy. The air rifle with out the scope was 12K!! OUCH on the wallet!

Looks to be a beautiful day however overcast and may rain which we need. But the temperature will only be 80°.

OH and we got another pullet butt nugget yesterday. That make 3 this week.

 

Good late morning all...not a whole lot of the sunshine the prognosticators promised...awfully hazy...thanks to the wild fires in the Western US and Canada. No complaints though...they've got it a whole lot worse than we do.

I just found out that I'm playing Uncle Uber tonight...Jonathan is going to play football this year and they have a Captain's Practice tonight. More a team building exercise than anything else. He passed on last year's football...too busy with basketball. Besides...the JV...which he would have been on...only practiced...no games. The local varsity team will be made up of players from 4 different schools as none of them have enough players to form their own teams. Kids just aren't playing football anymore.




I'll try to be more quiet next time Lin...sorry. sorry to hear about the bears in your neighborhood...rather common around here...they're just looking for an easy meal.

Good morning Butt Nugget Rod..."work" was absolutely splendiferous this morning...Katie Beth was there...although...she was on the other side of the room. Shauna was my primary caregiver today. Cheeseburger for lunch...and...some of the coleslaw I made yesterday...it's better the next day!!! Hope all is well in your world.

Good evening all...got Jonathan home safe and sound after his Captain's Practice...they had 8 kids there...not too bad for a summer day. Most of the older kids have jobs...and...there are vacations...and...of course baseball. The kids will get together 3 days a week until school starts.

Supper is on the stove...hot dogs...sauerkraut...and...probably some more coleslaw. Not sure what I'm going to wash it down with...but...there is some Focal Banger from The Alchemist brewery in VT.

Gonna get worse if these covid numbers keep going higher. I'm hoping that they don't, but gut feeling is telling me that we are going to be in a world of hurt within a few months.
