So, WhiskeyTango and I have been "In Production" since July 26th, and AlbertaHooter has been there since July 23rd. I'm happy for you guys who ordered before us and after us that are now "Delivered" or "In Transit", but what the hell? All three of us have UTT, Moonroof, and Bedliner; but plenty of trucks with those same options are already done. What gives? Did somebody crash our trucks driving them across the street? What does "In Production" really even mean? Somebody please send me a Xanax!!!
My truck was scheduled for production on July 20. Sent to plant date 7/28. My actual build day is today 8/6.
Someone could make a lot of money partnering with Ford to offer a more in depth tracking experience. Somehow a camera feed while it goes downs the assembly line. With a GPS tracker as it is shipped to its final destination. Based on all the interest in the process, I'm guessing people would pay a decent price for the service.
Particularly with the recent info they want to transition to more special orders vs. filling dealer lots.
But maybe Ford likes the mystery!!
Oh well, I'm hoping for an early Sept. delivery date. Been waiting since April with no truck. Ordered confirmed 4/21. F350 Lariat Ult Tremor with blackout, UTT, sunroof.

Interesting idea on the tracking of the order and allowing people to do this. As a society that is so used to instant gratification and moving toward ordering vs buying off the lot, this seems like a no brainer... Package it and sell it!

Ford wants to reap all the benefits of a tesla-style retail order system, but they don't want to put in the effort (and capital).
I agree a very transparent tracking system with updates, photos and a factory pickup option would be welcome by all buyers, and would likely attract some new ones. It could be so great, and they could be an industry leader in connected consumers.
Woohoo, my very own truck went into production today! Looking forward to the Friday the 13th build date!
Seems that prior to this week, we had a higher completion of builds as compared to this week. Or. Maybe mine is just getting closer & things are moving at a snails pace.
I still think 5th wheel prep is done after the build, according to ice on BOF (a lot of people disagree with this), I'm happy to be wrong on the 5th wheel prep if you have any information that this is installed on the line..
I don't have any definitive information, but my F-350 with the 5th Whl. prep was built on 7/31, released on 8/2 and shipped on 8/3, so I don't believe they could get that done off-site and shipped so quickly. Just an anecdotal observation.

I believe one of the members from the Ford tremor forum who has a sister that works at the plant. Mentioned they were only running one shift this past week but would be going back to three shifts for the upcoming week.
