I chose a cylinder head shop, and drove there this morning. He seems to be a good guy, and knowledgeable. He's gonna resurface, install hardened exhaust seats, new valves, guides, and seals. He also wants my valve springs and cam card, so I gotta decide on a camshaft and get it ordered. I got the block totally stripped (except for one broken motor mount bolt). Just got done degreasing and pressure washing. I'll probably get to work with carbide burrs and cartridge rolls tonight. I was gonna take the block and crankshaft to the machine shop tomorrow, but it dawned on me that I need new main cap bolts before it goes to the shop. Gotta get them ordered. I'm having fun!
They do have the coolest decals. The name is fun to say, and can be modified. Not to mention Lunati's rich history of massive wartime destruction. I am most likely going with an off the shelf camshaft, and yes, Lunati has one of three that I'm looking at. Comp and Howard make the other two.
I just ordered a set of ARP (AARP) main cap bolts, and a Ford Racing rear sump oil pan. I needed to order the oil pan now because it comes with the studded main cap bolt for the pick up.

Thanks, I appreciate it. If you don't mind, What motor mounts did you use?
I haven't bought motor mounts yet. I assume you're asking because you are planning to swap a 460 into something. Motor mounts depend on what you're swapping it into. My truck is 4wd, and has a 400. Jeff's sells a HD motor mount set that will supposedly put the 460 where it needs to be in my truck. We'll see.
The first set look like the ones L&L offers. I used the L&L's my first go with 460 and I think if you're doing any off roading then the offering from Jeff's is the way to go.
