Had an idea to put a restrictor in the tube that goes to the actuator. Something inline that restricts flow that would cause the vanes to open up a little slower, increasing spool even more.
these guys really are clowns. So we had exhaust brake function with the electronic actuator. Then they ditched it and did an air actuator for the exhaust brake. Now we are back to electronic actuator for the exhaust brake. The mechanical actuator has also changed multiple times.
I also like how the spool up increase is 200-300 rpm or 200-400 rpm. Just depends where you read. It’s like they just throw random numbers out there!
I can confidently say mine significantly increased spool up! So the VGT works but the marketing is so shady and awful
Yeah I have totally given up on them. I got in touch with them to offer my solution for the REA failures and they totally blew me off. Like you said though, the hardware seems to be working okay so I will just develop off that base.
After being left alone in the truck since 2022, the VGT is startting to show signs of sticking with random EBP surges. Time to perform some maintenance.

The turbocharger is out of the truck and apart for inspection and relubing. It is in better shape than I had expected. No play in the shaft whatsoever. No signs of wear on aerodynamic surfaces.
