Fixing hacks never are, but I'm hoping it goes smooth. Today is basically not fun in general. Cutting that thing out of the fill tube, cutting welds and doing tank work.

I hear you. At least the results are very worth it.

Lame update. Added a 3/4" PEX ball valve to my supply line to cut off radiant heat in the cab. With it being a little cooler I can feel the heat coming through the vents. Ironically this truck had valves on the supply and return lines but they were seized up and hard to open.

Pretty sure I ordered it from CP Addict. If I recall correctly it was roughly 40 dollars without the pump. I reused my pump, but I think there is an option for a pump for an extra 30 dollars or so.

Mine wasn't leaking but I figured it wasn't a bad idea to replace it since I was changing to the degas style cooling system. Its a Motorcraft piece so I expect it to last another 20 years lol

A few years back not even Motorcraft was available. I had to adapt an E series coolant bottle because only FoMoCo made the OBS coolant bottle and they were discontinued. Fun times.

I had no idea it was that bad. Luckily at this time they're still being produced, I'm assuming the market was big enough for Motorcraft to bring it back. Now's your chance to get back to stock

Got some work done awhile back, life has gotten in the way of trying to install this tank. Will hopefully install tomorrow. After this is up I'll hang the spare under it and list the parts I used/ snap pics for everyone that's curious.

Used a 90 degree fitting and bent to match supply line. Then bent another 90 degree off that and set at 12" long. This barely fits and is at the tank wall.

Sending unit installed.

I'll keep at my truck if you keep at yours! That dually is looking really nice by the way. Sometimes I wish I had an SD truck as it seems most of my "mods" are just updating to the SD stuff.

Has Ike found a home yet or do you still have him?
