Its in the bed Eric, lol. I don't like it there but twice I've put it on a floor jack and jacked it up there to take a look. I just didn't like the looks of it. I also have seen a guy that used to be on here years ago mount his up there and claimed he tried to hit it. Drove over curbs, pot holes, etc. and never could hit it. Traveling I need the room in the bed but like I said, I just didn't like the way it looked.
20 bucks cheaper than the E.... only difference is the vent spot welded in.

This tube comes out, held in by a couple spot welds. Be careful not to get too crazy. Twisting side to side will eventually break it loose. The entire weld area was flexing a bit if I got too rough. I've seen someone break that loose before...
Got it.... 15 minutes of rough housing later.
Vice grips are all you need. I tried to shock it loose. Didn't do anything.
Plan is to get the front back in tomorrow or Saturday, and work on adding the vent and painting this tank. Honestly the tank doesn't look as big as I thought. I'll get some side by side pics when the rear comes out.
Finished up the front tank. Felt pretty good about it, so I went to fill up about 10 gallons in case something wasn't right and I had to siphon it out and drop the tank again. The vent fill mod is an overwhelming success, full blast on the regular truck nozzle. I couldn't slam the nozzle all the way in, but it was about 3/4 of the way, instead of barely hanging on like before. Pretty happy, I fire the truck up and my fuel pump is literally screaming at me. I switched back to the rear tank and drove back home.
When I got back, there was a steady stream of air getting into the fuel, I could watch it through my E fuel bowl and it looked like a carbonated drink. Uh oh. I figured it was either the hard line AN adapters I used, or I needed to cut the fuel pick up a little more. So I siphoned the fuel out, threw 5 gallons of it in my rear tank, and kept the other 5 in my can.
I dropped the tank and cut roughly 3/16's off the supply. this should put it roughly 1/4" away from the bottom, give or take an 1/8th. I don't think that was the issue, because as soon as I started to pull the hard line adapters off the pick up, they slid off with minimal effort, as well as the compression olive. I did the tried and true injection clamps like the SD guys do for the hutch/harpoon mod. All back together and no more air, no leaks....
Looks nice. I need to look into my pickups also. Did you do the rear tank too?
Not yet, thats the plan for next weekend. I still need to paint the 38 gal, and pull and modify the pick ups and do all that jazz. I hope to have the paint on the tank tomorrow or Tuesday.
