Somewhat off-topic. I understand if you disconnect the ICP sensor (or it fails?), the PCM will use 700psi, but I've always thought of this at idle. Can you drive on that? I mean there's a difference between revving an engine in neutral and trying to move 7000 pounds.
I think I moved it around with the sensor unplugged once. Ran like **** beforehand, so I can’t say if unplugging the sensor made a difference. Heard something about it defaulting to highest “worst case” values when it’s unplugged and driven, but it could just be forum BS.

If this were mine...I wouldn't spend another dime on anything other than getting the engine to run correctly.
Mark Kovalsky said the same thing in another thread, and it definitely makes sense. I handled the potential basic solutions, like replacing the 3rd brake light and putting in Archoil. Thinking of dropping the tank and clearing out the filters since the fuel level is low right now. Then I might fill up, treat fuel with Archoil, and run it for a while. Maybe the Archoil does something. Powerstrokehelp ran it 30 miles or so, and the manufacturer’s money-back guarantee is after 100 miles. Assuming it’ll take some time to work its way through the whole motor.
I may end up ordering a new ICP and EBP sensor/tube too. The ICP is leaky, and the EBP is raising a code. I can also get the recall replacement CPS from Ford. Worst case scenario, I’ll change O-Rings and shim the injectors, or order rebuilt ones. I’d appreciate recommendations for injectors.
Before changing the tires (which are needed before it’s seriously driven anywhere), I want to rebuild the whole suspension and get a high-quality leveling kit/spacers to run slightly more aggressive tires. Will need an alignment too, so it makes sense to do it all at once.
Noticed this was disconnected today, what should I do with it? Assuming it’s a ground, any bearing on my issue?
replaced all the light bulbs, gonna clean up brake sensor (maybe it’s corroded), and I should probably find a way to remove the trailer brake controller. I also found an old starter hiding in the back seat, maybe they mis-installed it and it’s causing issues/jingling noise?
The cable I am holding is connected to the firewall bolt you circled, as marked in picture. It's supposed to go to the head of the motor? Could this be causing any of my issues?
Disconnected the brake controller to isolate any other potential issues. During this process, I noticed three wires "loose" under the hood, along with a "connector" with nothing connected. All four are marked in the pic. I'm reading that the connector might be for the idle controller accessory, but any guesses on the other wires?
There was also a wire that looked "spliced" into another wire within the harness, underneath the steering wheel. It had a little plastic coupler, with a small length of wire sitting parallel to the original wire within the loom. Looked OEM potentially. Any guesses? Hard to get a pic.
I'd hook that ground back to the firewall (nothing fancy, just brush the cable and firewall to ensure good conductivity then wrap around the bolt) then replace the ICP with OEM Ford or IH, and see where that gets ya.
Take the process step by step, work on _one_ issue at a time. Trying to do everything at once is just too confusing. Be methodical and we'll help ya get there.
If the center support bearing is bad that would explain a lot of the driveline/transmission noises. You can do that with typical hand tools. But put it off until you get the engine running right.

It will get right! These 7.3s are tough.
The ground looks to be connected at the firewall, you can see it snake around, under and up. What he's asking is, where does it connect on the head.
I went out and looked at mine. From the ground I can't see exactly where it goes but it is at the back of the head. It might fasted down the end of it up against the firewall.
