When I downloaded the files for USB 2 they were the same as pictured above except the extension was .tar.gz.
I downloaded the files for USB 1,2 & 3 but haven’t tried to install them. Plan to just archive them for now as my 3.0 version seems to be stable and I really don’t mind the screen color.
you are correct, i posted earlier when i had a problem. the windows machine i use to unzip the files did not show the .gz extension because i did not have the box checked in view files to show extensions. Once i added the extension i was good to go.
I was wondering if someone could post pictures of the files as they appear on the finished USB sticks. I have been struggling with the downloads all afternoon and have experienced several download errors. I finally got USB 2 to download cleanly (it took about 3 hours) and it seemed to unzip successfully and created two .tar.gz files. Is that how many there are supposed to be. I would feel better if I knew exactly what the files should look like on each stick before proceeding any further.
Thanks very much,
Gary
here is what should be in USB 1 and USB 2 if using download link for sync 3 with NAV
USB 1 should look like this above when Done
USB 2 should look like this above when done
When I had problem downloading the files for a prior update, Chrome would crap out on me. I switched to Internet Explorer and it worked fine. Anti-virus software can also get in the way.

Thanks very much for posting this. Obviously I have a real problem with my download for USB 2 as I only have 2 files after doing the unzip.

I had a lot of problem downloading the USB 2 files also. I was using Chrome. I popped open Firefox, and they downloaded with no problem. A little slow, but at least they downloaded. Getting all the files into the one SyncMyRide folder took as long as anything.
I completed the upgrade today, and it all went smooth as a baby's butt. It took about an hour, but the actual process probably took about 40 - 45 minutes (I was multi-tasking while waiting during the updating). I haven't had a chance yet to really test things, but so far, it all appears to work fine. Some of the Sync voice command responses were a little herky-jerky, but I am attributing that to still processing and updating. I will further test this later. All my preset Sirius/XM stations saved and are there (always good). I did have to remove my iPhone from the Bluetooth, and reconnect, as well as reconnect my Wi-Fi. But it's all good. I just have to have a chance to play with it now. Which will come soon.
I'm setting up to do this. For clarity, Tricon's files are already decompressed/unzipped and just need to go on the USB drive with the exact file structure? Any future map updates will have to be by this same method? There's not likely to be any subsequent updates from Ford for my 2017, other than map updates?
