So essentially you're just going to make another USB 3 drive and plug it in? Or do you have to start over from USB 1 again? But replace USB 3 with the above?

 

Correct

The only potential gotcha is running out of memory on non-Nav systems from what I've observed. However, 3.3 is smaller, in file size, than 3.4 so that's a good thing.

Fresh in from the cold driveway and I was able to grab some data (bored to death)!

USB Stick 2 - From Minute 1 to Minute 6 - Extracting & Updating Apps
Minute 6 to Minute 19 - Extracting Maps
Minute 19 to Minute 25 - Extracting Voice Navigation Pkg
Minute 25 to Minute 28 - Extracting Gracenote Pkg
Minute 28 - Installation Complete - You may remove your USB Device at this time.
USB Stick 3 - Takes about 10 to 15 minutes with absolutely NO NOTIFICATION on the screen until it is finished, so as the instructions say "Be Patient!!!" It does give you a dialogue box when it's done and tells you the software will take effect the next time you start your truck!

Good info. Since I don't have maps, I can deduct 13 minutes from my upgrade time.

 

Probably the "Voice Nav Pkg" time as well then, if you don't have maps!

Title says it all, clicked on wrong link, downloaded NON NAV files and installed them on my NAV based unit (2017 KR).

It all worked, went quickly. TOO quickly. Now I have everything but nav sytem. Fault error, says "take it to your dealer".

I've built the correct three sticks now, but inserting USB 1 takes the ~10 mins of "Updating System" time then finishes, no prompt for USB 2. If I put in USB 2, the unit sees it and indexes it, but doesn't start the install.

Please tell me there's a way to fire off the upgrade/format/partition again?

 

you don’t need to run usb 1 again, you don’t have something on your USB stick properly. You should be able to put USB2 in and wait

 

Others might know better than me, but to use stick one again, you have to downgrade the v3.3 or earlier (via a stick two). You can then use stick one again and then go to the correct stick two. Make sense?

 

stick 1 formats it so 3.2/3.3/3.4 can be installed, if he successfully did stick 1 then he only needs to start at 2.

 

I have a root directory with "SyncMyRide" folder with the sixteen files (downloaded individually from Tricon's link, zipping failed several times" and the reformat.lst file. (also from Tricon's posting)

total size Of files on the USB will help me a little more.

it looks like they are all there it should be around 16GB. I don’t believe this makes any changes to the module, but if you look in the forscan forum maybe it shut nav off I’m not 100% sure. PM me and I’ll give you my number I’ll try to help. I’ve successfully went from 3.0 to 3.4 to 3.3 to 3.4 again 0 issues

I just reformatted the USB stick, copying the files again now. used a different volume name so maybe it would look at it again.
