I just completed this on my 2017 F250 Platinum and my wifes 2017 Explorer Platinum... Only issues I had:
F250 would not recognize USB2, hard reset 5-6 times it eventually found what it was looking for. Somewhere along the line USB2 error'd on a file, but after it reset itself all was good. Have not used USB3 yet... 45 minutes total including issues, but ~20 minutes to run USB2
Explorer would not recognize USB1, in/out 2-3 times, but once it did it was smooth sailing after that. Have not used USB3 yet... 25 minutes total
I did this 3.4 update and it seemingly went very well I followed the instructions and after about 45 min for all three USB’s the installation was complete. But now I have no gps signal and can’t figure out how to get it back. I’ve tried several factory resets and nothing has worked.
does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to fix this.

Go back and Read my Post #200 regarding USB #3 and "Loading Times", etc. - you both should go ahead and do it to complete your Updates!!! Not sure if it will help you GPS issue Kman but the 3rd stick IS part of the load.
Can anyone with a 2017 confirm if the ambient lighting option still exists? I know they did away with the ambient lighting options in 2019, I just do not want to lose tht feature.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I did the USB3 just as you said and all the Bit settings look good in Forscan so I don't know why I have no GPS. The only thing I can think of now is to try a new GPS antenna. Hopefully that will fix the issue. If that doesn't work I guess I'll just use the Android Auto Nav.
Thanks.

Did you try removing and replacing your battery cable? Basically hard/cold rebooting your entire system.

I could still make choices of colors after the upgrade.
yes I did disconnect the battery for a couple minutes. Maybe I should disconnect it a little longer.
I would encourage you to try posting your situation in this thread. Make sure you include details like truck and year, nav or non-nav, version of 3.4 you now have and the exact file list from your install. If you provide all the details, ahead of time, then one of the more experienced posters might give you some quick feedback. Worth a try!
Thanks everyone who contributed to this thread. I followed instructions and successfully installed 3.4 on my 2019 SD. My wife's 2020 Escape ( Company Car ) had 3.4 already installed so i had something to compare the truck to. Now both look the same.
