I wished I could access the PDFs I have for the transmission. The stupid computer won't boot right and I
found that you need XP Pro to make the PDFs that I post.
With what you said about the shop hacking up the harness I think I would start by checking for any broken or mis-spliced wires.
Also there is a harness that runs down the back of the trans. and that might be worth reaching up from the ground to feel for and
also check where the harness enters on the transmission right side. It passes through the case and into the valve body. The
easy one to check (well maybe not in the E-series) is the plug on the PCM. Make sure all three are fully plugged into the connectors.
That harness is easily viewed...the doghouse makes everything on the rear end of the motor available to me...the front is where it's a PIA. They cut off a couple harnesses that run along the engine compartment top...also looks like they changed the bottom plug ends on the ficm..and the top plug set is ziptied to the ficm...now that was all done at the shops way in the begining 8 years ago...
The icp was unplugged when I scanned it. I plugged it in and same results. So I changed the plug end. Same deal..I cant find the neutral safety switch/ trans range sensor and whatever else names there are for it. I guess it's in the trans pan?
Now...what is the 4 wire plug behind the alternator? When I rehooked everything up origibally. I keep connecting it but I just dont feel a good connection on it and the red lock thing dont seem to work worth a crap
Ford.
They are not hard to replace. When you do a full filter change they are right there, plug and play as they say. But when they go you have to do it.
Sucks, but truck has been sitting 8 years.
I donno about that...or maybe the fact this is a van and space is such a f'n premium lol
Definitely. The vans are a beech. If you just accept that you're gonna have to take everything out from under the hood, and get that over with. It's easier afterwards.
