Where to begin...we bought this new. About 8 years ago it went into several shops. Spent thousands obviously. They hacked into harnesses then finally listened to me and redid the hpop. Fast forward 2 years ago was having issues with hot starts cold starts and more visits. They decided to install a block heater. Drove it in and they towed it out of the joint. So I parked it.
Now I'm tired of looking at it sit. So I replaced the usual suspects. Dummy's, standpipes, ebp sensor, icp sensor, ipr, batteries, fuel filters. I used ford stuff besides the batteries.
Go to turn the key after everything cycles and nothing...but radio injector rattle, water in fuel message...no crank but I heard the starter relay click. I did drain that plug on the filter. So I'm searching the web during all of this and I find about the yellow blue wire and I get the starter to turn but no start. I did buy a odb2 bluetooth and got torque and the pids for it. I'm not getting a reading from the icp. Ficm is at 48
Well you centenly threw some serious money at it. Download Forscan and check voltage on icp. Do koeo tests. Theye are under diagnostics. You can do pcm tests. Then do your reguler pid readigs as you cramk motor. Make sure batterys are charged.
I think i read your last post wrong. I think what you ment is you used the starter wire on pss side to turn motor over. Am i corre0 this time. If so sorry, people poped in on me ehile reading.
Again down load Forscan lite. $4.99. Run your koeo tests on pcm and ecm. Program will read all fault codes including ignition problems. Post the codes it gives you here and me or other guys can probably tell you where to start.
Yeah that's what I did....Ok. I'm away from the van for the day so I'll swing out tomorrow and scan it.
I'm no mechanic but I've done my share of wrench turning. The only reason I'm even doing this is because I actually bought a diesel gmc terrain for my dd. And figured I'd get my feet wet on a diesel motor that I cant possibly mess up more than it currently was lol
Man welcome to FTE. I got mine From my Dad and also have turned wrenches. It's a learning experience. The motors aren't hard to work on once you learn the diagnostic part. You dont want to have to throw money at things it probably isnt. The guys here are great. They've tought me alot. Post your readings and you will get answers. Good Luck.

I donno about that...or maybe the fact this is a van and space is such a f'n premium lol
I have a few friends that use different dongles. But the only one that I know for sure it works with is the elm327. But being as you already have two, I wouldn't buy one yet. Download forscan Lite and. Do the process of trial and error. No sense in wasting 30 $40 if you don't have to. Forsean sounds like it might have connections to Forscan. I'd try it first.
