Ok. I might be interested if the price is right. Missouri isn't even that far and I might be able to meet you to get them. Just let me know. It would make the body work aspect easier and I love the look of the trim. Mom said that dad was worried about rust, but the truck is pretty much going to be fair weather only for me. I also have stuff to trade if you are interested in doing that. I would just need to know what you are looking for if anything.
I've looked these over and they will take quite a bit of work to get them back to nice/new.
So other than to be disappointed, I'm going to pass on selling them.

A few more updates. I finally got around to putting a fuel filter on there and I had to flush the power steering system. Who knew you use ATF in the power steering reservoir. I'm guessing most of you, man I have been out of this for too long. Power steering fluid will puke all over the engine bay if used. Consider that your public service announcement for the day. I will be rebuilding the pump this weekend as it is still leaking pretty bad. Luckily the kit is only $8. I also replaced the gasket set for the push rod cover as it was leaking fairly significantly. There was no gasket mask used on the engine side of the gasket, so no wonder. It is sealed up now though. I also had the fun experience of having the little retaining ball on the accelerator cable come off at the pedal and stop a road trip. Luckily I had the tools with me and got it fixed enough to get home. I put a cable stop on there and it isn't coming loose again. We also now have a working dome light. Small victory by small victory, I'll get it done.
The main thing it the truck is getting driven, which is what dad never got to do. Thanks for reading.
Interesting observation about using ATF for the power steering. I have never used anything else, although I know there is "Power Steering Fluid" on the shelf at the parts store. I have been told that ATF and PS fluid are the same thing except for the dye colour. I think PS fluid might be clear, don't know.

Great to hear you're driving the ol iron, JJ!
I have had the same challenge with my accelerator cable..... it made me think too - just know that these are the experiences that cause you to bond even tighter with your old iron horse! I'm sure your Dad is smiling down on you as you "visit" with your ride!
Keep up the GREAT reporting and wishing you clear & dry cruising roads....

I can confirm they are different and power steering fluid is yellow/green unless it is puked all over everything. It then turns clear

I'm ok being on the side of the road when I'm prepared and can fix the stuff on the fly. Road trips do not happen without the tools in this truck. This is however a new experience for the kids and they are on the fence with it. I was too though at that age, but we always made it home at night. They still will hop in if we are going somewhere.
Here was my fix for the cable. It ain't coming off again. Dad had a band clamp holding the ball to the pedal.
I did the dreaded drain the fuel tank today. The sending unit wire for the gauge was broken in the tank and the float was full of gas, making it a weight. The screen on the pickup was also loose and floating around. I replaced the unit with a new one and now my last non working gauge is functioning. I am still having fuel starvation, so the new fuel pump is ordered. It is the last piece of the fuel system to be replaced/ rebuilt other than needing to change some rubber line for hard line.
