JJRiley, I agree.....it looks much better.
What have you decided on going with for a rear bumper?

Thank you.
The rear bumper is staying. It is similarly styled to the front one and it fits the truck nicely in my opinion. I found an old pic of it. The crudely welded hitch has been ground off and the eye hooks will go in the interest of keeping it clean since I will tow nothing with it. This bumper will get straightened and painted also.
JJRiley,
I think keeping/using the vintage rear bumper is a good choice.
Since you are planning to do some welding on it, I would suggest you inspect how well the frame attachment brackets are welded on. I added some triangulated gussets to mine in an effort to provide it with additional support if the bumper was ever tagged or pushed on at one of the ends. My thought was the gussets would stiffen up the bumper some and prevent it from bending inward quite as easily.... just a thought.

The frame attachments for the bumper are solid. I just need to get the bumper straightened on the driver side as it is bent inward slightly and touching the bed.
I have been working on this thing a lot lately and here is a link to the TUNING thread just for documentation sake since it is related. I think I am ready to start straightening sheet metal now. I just have to pick a few tools and get it going. This is the part I have been looking forward to for a while now.
I finally got a chance to start the fun stuff. There aren't that many dents on this truck. I started doing hammer and dolly work. My first time ever doing it, but I researched how and then did it. Paying to have it done isn't an option for me. I worked on the two worst. The pics go in the order of before and after. I need to shrink the bed side because the metal is stretched. I'll be bringing the oxygen and acetylene bottles from my dad's shop the next time I go there.
I've been working on the body some more. The holes for the trim on the doors and cowl as well as the fuel filter hole have been welded up. I fixed the body filler over them and painted it over with red. The red is temporary while I drive it.
I don't have it so we are going to go without it. Dad was wanting to shave it all off so I think he got rid of it. I thought I found it in the barn last weekend, but it was from a newer model. I would prefer to have it and would probably put it back on if he had kept it.
Ok. Just wondering there.
I have the bed strips, removed from a bed that I wrecked the 65 F100.
I should have removed all of the strips before salvaging the truck.

What would you ask for them just out of curiosity?
Ok. I might be interested if the price is right. Missouri isn't even that far and I might be able to meet you to get them. Just let me know. It would make the body work aspect easier and I love the look of the trim. Mom said that dad was worried about rust, but the truck is pretty much going to be fair weather only for me. I also have stuff to trade if you are interested in doing that. I would just need to know what you are looking for if anything.
