As MKOS stated - the light modules may be different but I would think it is worth a try to make the coding changes. Worst case your modules are only one color and then it is a matter of swapping them out for the multi- color if you choose - I ordered my modules using a 2017 VIN. Try using the coding changes listed earlier in this thread and show us a pic of your ambient light screen. Mine is posted above in post #64 - that is what was enabled through the code changes; prior to that ambient lighting was not even listed on my screen. With your '19 and the change to fixed color and intensity, what does you screen currently look like from the factory out of curiosity?
Hi
I will check next week i will have my truck next monday
Thanks
Mario
Bernie, when you pulled the upper console off was there a harness or was it buried down in there. I know theres no connection for the ambient but I just wanted to know if I could see the existing one to remove it to wire in the new wiring or if it was hidden deep. I found the whole console harness for a truck with ambient for about 18 bucks Ford parts giant. If its way to deep, I'll make my own and jump it to the passenger foot well.
From what I could tell - the console harness terminates at the front of the console and that connection was actually best seen and accessed through the passenger side foot well area. To answer your question - yes I recall that you can access it and probably connect without removing the console. I think it would be safe to assume based on everything else that was already in place, ambient lighting is up to that point at least and a replacement console harness would do you good.
One area of concern though and the reason why I baled and just made my own as opposed to pulling the console out - I can not recall now if the harness incorporates all the connections? The connections for the USB's SYNC plus the power points located in the inside of the console are not accessible by hand with the console in place. So if the harness has all of those which I think it does, I really think you are stuck removing the console to swap the whole harness out. At that point, connecting the end to the truck is no issue
Got my console today!! Guess what? Its cracked on top and the ambient lights are cracked off the base.... 2 weeks waiting for this thing. Varsity is shipping new one out Thursday
Yup, no way to get to that console harness. I can fish my hand blinded through the opening in the console to touch it and that's about it. Made up the long wire today and small jumper harness to the right footwell light. Waiting on the replacement console still.
Got new one in. Works flawless. Since I was bored with the other one I took it apart before sending back and this is what lights up. 2 ambients hit the plastic pegs and the light travels through it. Broke or not it lit up the same as the new one LOL. So I would have been fine with a tab of epoxy to fit it.
One of the posts was broke off. For giggles I epoxied it back on in that pic since I was sending it back anyways and it worked identical to the new unit. Unfortunately I sent that console back already with that part.
its possible to add it on the value package. I'm currently adding it to mine. My body harness came pre wired for it. the console and door harness are missing the conectors. I just need the time to add the missing conectors. Look under the driver and passanger seat for a lighting module if one is present you truck may be pre wired. Another place to look is behind the glove box to the right it there may be a small back conector with a cap inside of it.
These are the part numbers for the lighting modules. Some of these parts have been discontinued so some of you 19 guys may be out of luck.
